Inspired by my contemplation on the interrelation of life on Earth, I am creating this series “Planetary Interconnected” which shows parts of different animals flowing together. This combination creates a surreal chimera of species from the same region of the world, some of them being endemic to that region. Each piece is rendered in rich detail with a sensitive use of graphite.
A fragment of the human form is also included, since we are another one of the animals of these regions. Although we as humans often have the most influence on the lives of other animals, my goal is to visually minimize the importance of humans to create hope for a more balanced future.

The working title of this series was Mélange, which is mentioned in the video.

The California sea lion is a big personality in the SF Bay Area, but don’t lose sight of the Marbled Murrelet safely set inside her head.
The White Sturgeon is the largest animals in this piece, but the Sea Pig really captured my imagination with its bizarre cuteness.
After completing this piece, I gave myself my first tattoo: jaguar spots on my forearm. The jaguar impressed me so deeply that I wanted to become part of the art and have the jaguar become part of me.
A jaguar walks through her world, experiencing other species: a black-handed spider monkey, red-footed tortoise,anemone decapetela, Peruvian shield mantis, Caribbean flamingo & human.
Some of the species to the part of the world I call home, incluing Lepus Californicus, a hare named after my state.
Many animals in Japan are endemic to the country. I’ve only been to Japan during Cherry Blossom season, which is why I chose pink for the accent color.
Both Squirrels a mockingbirds are considered pests by some, mostly because they often are clever enough to outsmart humans.
Although the American Crocodile looks frightening, its diet consist of fish and is no threat to humans. That cute Spotted Skunk, however — they’re going to get you.
The desert is a place that seems empty but is full of life. The harsh conditions create a fragility that makes every being important.
The title is a play on the phrase “leap of faith” which reflects the imbalances faces these species in the U.S. Pacific Coast ecosystem.
Porcupines in general calm demeanor, they let their spikes speak for them.

This piece focuses on the wood stork but also has the paw of a Florida panther, an American bullfrog, palm leaves, and a human arm. This features flora and fauna of the southeastern tip of the United States , where the wood stork is found.
