The pieces of this series come from spontaneous drawings. Drawing in this way feels like there is a direct line from my subconscious to my hand to the marks I make. Much of the imagery has a very narrative quality. When I’ve exhibited these pieces, viewers often spontaneously tell a story they see in the images, sometimes even speaking in imagined voices of those depicted in the works. This immediate and tight engagement is great for me to witness.
