The Tasmanian Honey Company Honey Nouveau Ginger Honey

Product details

We’ve been on the hunt for a top-quality ginger honey for ages, and none compare to this incredible jar. This is the first we’ve found that uses real, finely minced fresh ginger and not lackluster dried ginger powder—producing a robust spicy-sweet floral flavor with a touch of earthiness. Punctuated with tender ginger bits, the unusually high-quality base honey used here is thick, golden and flavorful in its own right. [/description-break] Ingredients [/title]Ingredients: Meadow honey, fresh ginger[/accordion] Specifications [/title]Net Weight: 400 gramsPlace of Origin: Australia[/accordions-break]A region known for its remote swaths of mountains and forests, filled with distinctive, native flora, Tasmania has a landscape like no other.[/banner_heading]As a love letter to this landscape, Tasmanian Honey Company—founded in the ’70s by beekeeper Julian Wolfhagen—produces natural, wild honeys using a special low-temperature preparation technique. This gently coaxes the golden liquid from the pockets of the honeycomb to preserve its floral and botanical essence, while ensuring a buttery, spreadable texture by promoting a finely crystallized structure.[/banner-text-break]It’s marvelous in tea or cocktails, for a quick marinade with soy sauce or even as a standalone glaze for meats—just brush it on near the end and cook until it bubbles. A smear on toast is excellent. Or try it with mascarpone and a light sprinkle of cinnamon. It also makes a great simple salad dressing: In a blender, combine ⅓ cup walnuts, ⅓ cup white miso, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, ¼ cup lemon juice, ¼ cup water, 1 teaspoon Ginger Honey Nouveau, 1 teaspoon dijon mustard and ½ teaspoon white pepper. Blend until the walnuts are finely ground and the dressing is smooth, about 1 minute. Add ½ cup neutral oil and blend until emulsified, about 30 seconds.[/how-to-use-break]This honey comes in a charming tin that easily pops open with a butter knife or the flat handle of a spoon. To close, replace the lid and push firmly in the center until you hear a small click.
