Outlast 2 announced, just in time for Halloween

You’ll have to play it at next year’s party, though.

Outlast, Red Barrels Games' survival horror game, is getting a sequel. The studio announced Outlast 2 with a terrifying teaser trailer on its YouTube channel. You can watch it for yourself above, with lights on or off at your discretion.

The video doesn't reveal much, but it's the ambiguity that makes it scary. More details come from an interview with studio founder Philippe Morin.

Morin told IGN that while the game won't return players to the "pervasive darkness" of its predecessor's asylum setting, the night-vision camera mechanic will return.

A fall 2016 release for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One game is currently planned.
