Michael Charlton, MHL, is president and CEO of AtlantiCare. He is responsible for the health system’s strategic growth, operations, and development. He leads AtlantiCare’s team of more than 6,500 individuals in serving the community in five southeastern New Jersey counties.

A purpose-driven leader and visionary entrepreneur, Charlton excels in fostering collaboration and innovation to drive transformative change. He is passionate about creating opportunities for individuals, communities and the broader society to thrive. This drives his focus on advocating for policies and programs that address challenging healthcare and societal issues that impact caregivers and patients.

Charlton’s extensive, diverse experience in business and healthcare leadership includes serving as a member of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Board of Trustees from 2020 through 2022. He was a member of the Board’s Operations/Investment, Governance, and Dick Davidson Nova Award committees. He currently serves on the AHA’s Workforce Task Force.

A member of the AtlantiCare Team for more than 14 years, Charlton served as chair of the organization’s system Board from 2017 through early 2023, and was a member of the AtlantiCare Regional Health Services Board from 2009 to 2016. His extensive contributions to the growth of the organization have included serving on AtlantiCare’ strategic growth task force since 2013. He has played key support roles in the expansions of AtlantiCare’s facilities, programs and services. These included the $38.3 Medical Arts Pavilion the organization opened in Atlantic City in 2022 and the opening of the $25 million Health Park in Manahawkin in 2016. He co-chaired the campaign for the $62.5 million AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus transformation expansion, which was completed in 2015.

Charlton’s extensive strategic business, finance and leadership experience includes serving as president and CEO of Icon Hospitality, Galloway, NJ, which he founded in 1993 and led through early 2023. His other roles have included serving as a consultant for Matrix Advisors Health Venture; vice president of Finance for MFA Properties & Development, Atlantic City; and as an analyst for Pruco Securities, LLC and Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. His voluntarism has included serving as chair of the board of Holy Spirit High School, Absecon, New Jersey, and vice chair of Stockton University’s Stockton Affiliated Services, Inc. Board; Galloway, New Jersey. He was a member of the Cape Bank Foundation, Atlantic County Institute of Technology Advisory Board, and the Arc of New Jersey Atlantic County Chapter’s Annual Fundraiser steering committee.

Charlton has shared best practices in creating and delivering exceptional customer experiences with Dolce Hospitality, Sysco®, Stockton University and other large organizations. He has addressed tips for teambuilding in healthcare and other industries with national media.

Charlton attained his Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership degree at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Leadership degree from the University of Louisville College of Education & Human Development, Louisville, Kentucky. He also studied finance and business at the University of Delaware, Wilmington, Delaware.

Charlton resides in Galloway, New Jersey with his wife Ali. They have a daughter, Madison.

Eduardo Conrado serves as President of Ascension, one of the nation’s leading non-profit and Catholic health systems with more than 2,600 sites of care, including 139 hospitals in 19 states.

He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for Ascension from July 2019 to January 2023. In this role, he led the Ascension-wide strategy, aligning the portfolio, investments and actions to position the health ministry to thrive as the preferences and expectations of those it serves change.

Recognized by Modern Healthcare as a Top 20 Innovator in Healthcare in 2021, he also led Ascension’s digital and data strategy, driving the platform to enable an exceptional consumer experience as well as a strengthened clinician experience across the enterprise.

Mr. Conrado joined Ascension in 2018 as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer. He served on the Ascension Board of Directors from 2014 to 2018.

Prior to joining Ascension, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for Motorola Solutions, where he managed the company’s growth-focused strategy, accelerating innovation across the company’s products, services and software, and bringing a design-centric approach to business model and customer experience innovation.

He joined Motorola in 1992 and served in a variety of leadership roles in corporate and multiple international businesses in a range of consumer and commercial segments across Motorola.

Mr. Conrado is a member of the Board of Directors of Southwest Airlines and ArcBest Corporation (ARCB), a transportation and logistics company, where he also serves as Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. He recently was elected to the Board of Directors for the Catholic Health Association of the United States and serves on its Advocacy and Public Policy Committee.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas; a master’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE, Barcelona, Spain; and a master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona.

Sarah is a principal in PwC’s Health Industries Advisory practice with 20 years of experience. She is an accomplished leader in the area of finance and the CFO agenda. She has extensive experience helping both health plans and providers improve their cost structures, profitability, and analytic capabilities. Sarah is also proficient at transforming the function of finance with cloud applications, automation, and analytics. She specializes in partnering the business, finance function, and technology to enable better insights, operations, and decision-making capabilities.

Sarah’s expertise in finance transformation, both for the function itself and as an enterprise capability, has made her a trusted advisor to organizations on key initiatives, including strategic labor/operating model programs, predictive analytics for forecasting, automation around core processes, and more. Specialties include cloud-based ERP transformations, analytic-led operational improvement programs, core finance automation and close acceleration, master data management, and finance talent development.

Larry Ellison is chairman of Oracle Corporation and chief technology officer.

He founded the company in 1977 and served as CEO until September 2014. He also races sailboats, flies planes, and plays tennis and guitar.

As Chairman of Oracle Health, David Feinberg, M.D., is committed to making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and equitable. His work advances thought leadership and strategy related to unleashing the healing power of data through an open and connected healthcare ecosystem. Previously, Feinberg served as president and CEO of Cerner, now Oracle Health, where he led teams focused on delivering tools and technology to improve the patient and caregiver experience. Feinberg built his early career as a pediatric psychiatrist around helping children and families. He served as president and CEO of both UCLA Health and Geisinger Health System prior to assuming leadership of Google Health in early 2019. He earned his M.D. from Chicago Medical School in 1989, finishing at the top of his class and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He also holds an economics degree from the University of California-Berkeley and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Senator Bill Frist, MD is a heart and lung transplant surgeon, former U. S. Senate Majority Leader, global conservationist, and health service entrepreneur. As founding partner at Frist Cressey Ventures and special partner at Cressey and Company, he has founded and grown numerous successful health service companies, currently on the boards of CareBridge, Monogram Health, MainStreet, OneOncology, Devoted Health, and Select Medical, among others.

Frist currently serves as Chair of the Global Board of The Nature Conservancy, the world’s largest conservation organization. As founder of the Vanderbilt Multi-Organ Transplant Center (today the nation’s busiest heart transplant center), he performed over 150 heart and lung transplants and authored more than 100 peer-reviewed medical articles.  He represented Tennessee in the U.S. Senate (1995 – 2007), his final four years as Majority Leader. He was instrumental in the passage of the 2003 Medicare Modernization Act that established Medicare Advantage and the historic PEPFAR legislation that has provided life-saving HIV treatment globally to over 25 million people.

His previous board service includes Teladoc, Accolade, the Smithsonian Institution, Princeton University, and Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows.

He and his wife Tracy live on their historic, cutting-horse farm Old Town in Franklin, Tennessee, with their border collie and two Aussies.

Jessica Herstek is Chief Medical Informatics Officer and an attending physician in pediatric hospital medicine at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Herstek has over a decade of experience in the practice of clinical informatics, integrating medical and technological expertise to improve the hospital experience and care for children, families, and clinicians. She has a proven track record of collaborative and creative problem-solving and has been a tireless advocate for advancement of health information and digital technologies.

Dr. Herstek studied computer science engineering and robotics at the University of Pennsylvania and attended medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. She trained in pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford with an aim to combine her backgrounds in technology and medicine. She earned board certification in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 2018. Dr. Herstek has partnered with Oracle Health and The Bear Institute for Pediatric Health Innovation to develop novel solutions to patient safety, health equity, and provider workflow challenges. At Children’s National she leads clinical informatics, digital transformation, data and analytics modernization, biomedical engineering, and clinical AI governance.

James E.K. Hildreth Sr., PhD, MD, was named chairman of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences board of trustees in 2019. As president and CEO of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee since 2015, he leads the nation’s largest private historically Black academic health sciences center. Hildreth holds an MD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a PhD from Oxford University and a BA from Harvard University where he graduated as a Rhodes scholar. A world-class infectious disease expert, Hildreth’s ability to explain complex science to laypersons made him a national figure during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, he was appointed to the FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee and in 2021, he was named to President Joseph Biden’s Health Equity Task Force. Hildreth spent 23 years at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as student, postdoc, professor and associate dean and served as dean of the College of Biological Sciences at University of California, Davis. His HIV research resulted in 11 patents and international recognition for several key discoveries. Hildreth was elected to the National Academy of Medicine and has received numerous awards and recognition for his accomplishments, leadership and service.

Pamela R. Jeffries, PhD, RN, FAAN, ANEF, FSSH, is Dean of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and holds the Valere Potter Distinguished Chair in Nursing.

Dr. Jeffries is internationally known for her research and work in nursing, simulation, and health care. Throughout the academic community, she is recognized for her scholarly contributions to executive leadership, the development of innovative teaching strategies, experiential learning techniques, new pedagogies, and the delivery of content using technology.

As Principal Investigator on grants funded by federal and state agencies and numerous national organizations, including the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Dr. Jeffries has provided leadership and mentorship on ground-breaking projects impacting both nursing practice and education. With the NLN, Dr. Jeffries developed the major contribution to simulation scholarship, the framework and monograph now known as the NLN Jeffries Simulation Theory.

Dr. Jeffries is a sought-after keynote speaker and delivers presentations on nursing leadership and her research nationally and internationally. Her numerous publications, including the recently released second edition of The NLN Jeffries Simulation Theory, cover a wide range of topics pertinent to nursing education, clinical simulations, and health care policy.

Dr. Jeffries is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (FSSH), and the Academy of Nurse Educators (ANEF) and an alumna of the Robert Wood Johns Foundation Nurse Executive Fellows program. She has been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Research Hall of Fame and received the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Excellence Award. Dr. Jeffries is active in a variety of professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Nursing and the Global Network of Simulations in Healthcare (GNSH).

Dr. Jeffries received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Ball State University, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Nursing from Indiana University.

Kedar is responsible for the planning and direction of Moffitt’s enterprise analytics ecosystem, including oversight of data quality and business intelligence, cancer registry, health informatics, and data science. He is also responsible for the implementation and adoption of the Moffitt cloud-based Cancer Analytics Platform, data governance, and execution of Moffitt’s enterprise-wide analytics strategy.

Marc Levy is the EVP leading the Oracle Health organization that consists of the core EHR and life science products and engineering. He joined Oracle in 2014 and was a founding member of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) project and team. He served as OCI lead architect and led various OCI engineering teams. He drove the integration of Oracle SaaS (the Fusion Applications, for example) and PaaS services on OCI. Prior to joining Oracle, Marc was the lead engineer on the Elastic Block Store at AWS, one of largest storage service in the world. Before that, Marc was at Microsoft where his last job was lead engineer on Exchange Hosted Archive, a giant-scale SaaS application for email archiving and compliance. So, in this span, he has worked in a lead role across the cloud stack from SaaS to infrastructure.

Bryan is the vice president of enterprise resource planning for Community Health Systems. He has been with the company for 15 years, serving in a variety of operational leadership positions at both the corporate office and affiliated hospitals. In his current role, Bryan is leading the Project Empower effort to implement the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP platform. He is an alum of Murray State University and holds bachelor and master degrees in accounting. In his free time, he is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time with his wife, Brittany, and three kids, Jake, Ella, and Charlotte.

Kristen is a strategic leader at the intersection between healthcare operations and clinical performance. Ms. Miles leverages her 20+ years of healthcare supply chain and clinical experience to drive solutions that integrate the unique clinical needs of her customers while injecting global operational best practices. She and her team are responsible for driving innovation and direction within Oracle solutions for healthcare customers around the world.

Greg Pavlik is senior vice president and chief technology officer for Oracle Cloud Platform, responsible for product strategy, the technical roadmap, and solution architecture initiatives. Greg focuses on data integration, big data, event streaming, and data science to ensure Oracle has the most capable and performant platform in the market for end-to-end solutions in the cloud. Previously at Oracle, Greg was vice president for product engineering. Before joining Oracle, Greg was chief product officer for Hortonworks. He has a BSE in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

As an experienced healthcare executive, Marc serves as the Deloitte Global Digital Health Leader, and is a national leader within the Operations and Technology Transformation practice. He focuses on advise, implement, and operate solutions, working with clients to improve operational and clinical performance while driving innovation. Marc is experienced in the US and global health care markets having worked closely with governments, regions/provinces, health systems, payer organizations, system integrators, and vertical software companies. He has been responsible for leadership on key engagements for national health records programs, electronic staff records, analytics initiatives, and other key broad-scale projects. He is a Global Advisory Board member for Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), an Advisory Board USA Health Alliance (USAHA), and the Health Innovation Alliance.

Dr. Shafiq Rab is the Chief Digital Officer and System Chief Information Officer for Tufts Medicine in Burlington, MA where he leads the organization’s digital transformation strategy, finding innovative data-driven ways of connecting consumers and caregivers. He oversees the system-wide digital organization that supports care across academic, community, home health and virtual settings.

Disrupting healthcare with digital technology, Dr. Rab is the current CHIME CIO of the year and has long proclaimed data as the new liquid gold containing wisdom and knowledge that provides a window into humanity and its wellbeing. He utilizes data and tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to develop programs in support of healthcare delivery and access. Recently he and a colleague developed a know how on an analytical platform which will generate new revenue for Tufts. In the past he has participated and advised on IT investments. Dr Rab has a patent pending.

Dr Rab has used technology to support diversity and inclusion through social determinants of health algorithms connecting the underprivileged to community resources such as food, shelter, and transportation. He has devoted his career to improve the patient journey while working to bring joy to the practice of medicine for care givers.

Dr. Rab is a leading global (Singapore, Brazil, Chile) expert on modernization of healthcare by applying advanced techniques in big data, interoperability, FHIR, cloud strategy, apps, APIs, and AI while fostering a culture of innovation. At Tufts Medicine he completed his vision for the world’s-first implementation of a full healthcare IT ecosystem in the public cloud including the Epic EHR and hundreds of other integrated applications.

Kaveh Safavi, M.D., J.D., is a senior managing director at Accenture where he is helps organizations harness the promise of technology and human ingenuity to humanize healthcare. He works with providers, health insurers, and public and private health systems in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.

A seasoned executive, Dr. Safavi brings more than three decades of leadership experience to Accenture Health. Prior to joining Accenture in 2011, Dr. Safavi led Cisco’s global healthcare practice. Before that he was chief medical officer of Thomson Reuters’ health business, vice president of medical affairs at United Healthcare, and had leadership roles at HealthSpring and Humana. Among his many accomplishments was establishing one of the Midwest’s first electronic-health-record-enabled primary care practices.

Dr. Safavi has published numerous papers and is often quoted on healthcare issues in various media publications, including The Wall Street Journal, the BBC, The New York Times, Consumer Reports, US News and World Report, Harvard Business Review and The Economist. Recently, IT Services Report named him the #1 healthcare IT executive for 2020.

Dr. Safavi earned an M.D. from Loyola University School of Medicine and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics and completed his medical residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center. An adjunct lecturer of Health Enterprise Management at Kellogg School of Management-Northwestern University, Dr. Safavi also serves on the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences’ Board of Visitors–Northwestern University and is a member of the Easterseals National Board of Directors.

As Executive Vice President of Industries at Oracle, Mike Sicilia is responsible for the team that develops and sets strategies for Oracle’s vertical businesses globally. His teams work with customers to deliver world-class, cloud-based vertical operating solutions such as clinical trials management, energy efficiency, and 5G network modules to profoundly improve people’s lives. Mike is passionate about using cloud technology to help Oracle’s customers better serve their customers, and he is a frequently requested speaker at industry events. He also leads the team that manages philanthropic partnerships with governments worldwide in the fight against COVID-19 by leveraging Oracle-developed and donated clinical and citizen-facing applications.

Sonny Singh has served as general manager of Oracle Financial Services since 2013 and was named executive vice president in 2019. In this role, Sonny has worldwide responsibility for Oracle’s product portfolio for the financial services industry across banking, insurance, and capital markets. Sonny began his career at Oracle in 1990 and has held many leadership roles in Oracle’s sales, consulting, and product marketing organizations. He holds an MS in industrial engineering from Stanford University and a BS in mechanical engineering from Punjab University, India.

Derek works directly for the CIO, managing various programs and initiatives, including LHC Group’s transformation of their ERP and HCM capabilities, which moved to Oracle Cloud in 2021. LHC Group is a national provider of home health services with an estimated 29,000 employees. LHC Group was acquired by Optum in 2023.

He has been with LHC Group for the last four years. Previously, he spent more than 20 years at IBM, starting in software development. He quickly moved to services, and then spent the majority of his time in various corporate leadership areas, including managing many elements of the ibm.com strategy, design, and operations. In 2005, he moved into IBM Consulting where he focused on cross-channel/omnichannel strategy and enablement, working for many of the top Fortune 100 companies.

Derek is currently based at LHC’s corporate offices in Lafayette, Louisiana, but has a small horse ranch in Dallas, Texas, where he spends the majority of his time when not in the home office.

LHC Group, Inc., specializes in the post-acute continuum of care primarily for Medicare beneficiaries in the United States. The company operates through four segments: Home Health Services, Hospice Services, Community-Based Services, and Facility-Based Services. Stephanie Trunzo is senior vice president and general manager for Oracle Industry Services. Her diversely skilled team is responsible for connecting solutions and resources across all Oracle industry teams and horizontal services. While Stephanie is a tech geek across cloud, AI, and emerging tech, she is also a storyteller with a commitment to usability and design thinking. This is reflected in her team’s mission to showcase the full breadth of Oracle’s solutions. Prior to her current role, Stephanie served in the same capacity, leading a brand-new Oracle Health organization where she was instrumental in laying the foundation for reimagined healthcare technology services and infrastructure that leverage the power of Oracle’s industry-leading data and cloud solutions. Stephanie began her career at Oracle applying her digital and experience disciplines to create and deploy Oracle’s global, value-based approach for multicloud, hybrid customer strategies. Stephanie joined Oracle from IBM where she was the global head of IBM Cloud Garage, a network of more than one dozen innovation hubs purpose-built to meld industry practices, startup culture, and IBM’s expertise. Prior to that, she founded and led her digital transformation startup through a public acquisition to Globant. Stephanie was affectionately dubbed “the prototype” for the chief digital officer role by the CDO Club. Seema Verma is EVP and GM, Oracle Health and Life Sciences. She is a national health care expert and most recently served as a senior advisor to private equity firms TPG and Cressey & Co, serving on the Cressey Distinguished Executive Committee. She also served on the Board of Directors for Lumeris, Monogram, Wellsky, ClaimsXten, Lifestance, and ShiftKey. Additionally, she provided advisory services to a variety of early stage and large public health care companies including national payers and technology companies focusing on strategy, value creation and operations. Seema was the former administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) between 2017-2021. Confirmed by the Senate on a bi-partisan basis, she had one of the longest terms in modern CMS history. In this role, she oversaw a $1.4 trillion dollar budget, coverage for 145 million beneficiaries, more than 6,000 employees, and over 100,000 contractors. She was responsible for federal operations of Medicare, Medicaid, Health Insurance Exchanges, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), and all federal quality and safety regulations. In this role she developed and implemented the federal administration's health care strategic plan across all programs to advance value-based care, innovation, interoperability, and price transparency while reducing drug prices, and regulations through her historic Patients over Paperwork initiative. CMS had numerous accomplishments during her tenure including delivering reduced premiums across Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, and individual insurance market as well as addressing the social determinants of health. Her pro-market policies advanced market competition and site neutral payments. Her leadership on the White House COVID Task Force led to the widespread adoption of telehealth, Hospital at Home, and no cost vaccines for the entire country. Prior to her role at CMS, she founded and sold a national consulting company and worked as a VP for Policy and Planning for a public hospital, public health department, and health system. In 2019, Seema was named as Modern Healthcare's Most Influential Person in Healthcare and was part of the Top 25 Women Leaders.
