Inshore waters between Cape Kidnappers and Portland Island.
Situation:
A weakening front moves across the upper North Island today, then a ridge of high pressure spreads over most of New Zealand. The ridge weakens tomorrow as a front moves onto the western South Island. A low develops on the front and should move east over the North Island on Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, a new ridge of high pressure builds over the South Island on Friday.
