  • ACCURATE: More sensors = More accuracy. Conventional stud finders have 1 or 2 sensors. The ProSensor 710 has 13, making it the most accurate stud sensing tool on the market. • EASY: One mode finds it all! The ProSensor 710 adjusts for a variety of depths, materials and textures. No calibration required. Press and hold the button to begin scanning. Unlike other stud sensors that give false readings, the ProSensor 710 allows you to start scanning anywhere, even over a stud.
  • DISPLAYS FULL STUDS: The ProSensor 710 displays the center and edges of studs simultaneously, showing single studs, double studs, and irregular configurations that other stud finders cannot detect. Works through drywall/sheetrock, standard lathe & plaster, and more!
  • DURABLE: #1 Rated by consumers and professionals, the ProSensor 710 stud finder is both accurate and durable.
  • EXTRA FEATURES: Integrated Ruler. Uses common AA batteries. Is NOT compatible with rechargeable batteries.

Best stud finder I have used
Wow!! Nothing could be easier. I put two batteries in it, pressed it against the wall, pressed down on the on/off button and there was no guesswork as I moved it across the wall and the lights revealed each stud as I passed over it. Got the drill out and checked to see how accurate it is. It's right on. I am going to love using this.

This is my fifth stud finder in the last twenty years and by far the best. Look no further. The light feature for letting you know where studs are is so much better than any of the others. Absolutely rock solid, always right and you can start on a stud and it doesn't have a seizure like some of the other ones. Amazing, a real life saver and makes work so much easier.

I am doing a lot of home remodeling projects that involve baseboards, trim casing, and crown moldings. So knowing the location of each and every wall stud and ceiling joist is very important to me. I addition, being able to find them easily, quickly and with accuracy is of paramount importace as I get very frustrated with tools that don't work well.

I'm happy to say that the Franklin ProSensor 710 is amazingly good at finding wall studs and ceiling joists. I've used Zircon products and the CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder and I wasn't happy with either of them. Inconsistent results, poor accuracy and a LOT of frustration with these other products.

I had the Franklin out of the box and working in about 2 minutes. Right away it was locating EACH and EVERY wall stud that my other tools were missing due to crowns in the studs or build-up of drywall joint compund. Not only that, it was accurately showing me the edges & width of the stud, something I've never had the pleasure of knowing before. Ditto for ceiling joists. In the past with other stud finders it was kind of an educated guess and you just hoped for the best when you drove a nail. Not any more.

Product is well designed, easy to hold and use, and is very light weight. I get the impression it could also take some jobsite abuse and hold up to it. The bottom surface is flat, but has a spongy flexible section between it and the stud finder. This allows the base to flex around curves in the wall or ceiling and maintain contact with the surface. Very nice feature. Its also has a smooth and softer plastic base than other stud finders. The CH Hanson 03040 is made of very hard plastic and it will scuff your painted walls when you are looking for a stud nail. No so with the Franklin ProSensor. Its much gentler on the walls and ceilings.

The only location I've had difficulty using the ProSensor 710 is over my doors and windows where there should be cripples above the header. The ProSensor doesn't seem to be able to detect those. Perhaps the header is so large is throws-off the ProSensors ability to detect the cripples above it. I'm not sure.

I'm very happy with this product, which is good as it's clearly not inexpensive. However, the time and frustration it is saving me is worth every penny. I'd highly recommend the Franklin ProSensor 710 stud finder.

In my homeowner and handyman business use, I've probably had more than ten different electronic stud finders. Of all of them, this is by far the easiest to use. It doesn't need to calibrate itself every time you push the button. It just works. You can easily visualize where the studs are. I deducted one star because finding the exact edge of a stud is more difficult because of the way the LEDs are spaced apart. It takes a little moving of the finder to really hone in on an accurate edge location. But that's an unusual scenario. 95% of the time, I just want to make sure the nail or screw hits the stud somewhere near the middle. For that, this can't be beat.

I, like most of you who have purchased or are considering a new stud finder, have purchased north of 5, south of 10 of various brands and types. Many of these have been shattered to pieces due to an "accidental" high speed collision with the wall &/or floor. I have often been ashamed of my reaction to yet another worthless stud finder. But the frustration of purchasing the latest and greatest with fancy new features, then discovering that it too does not function as it should is often more than I can bear. The fact of the matter is that most students finders just do not work. So needless to say I was skeptical when my friend told me about the ProSensor 710. Do I spend yet another $50 on something that most likely will fail as many others have failed before. As it turns out, I tried to use my two stud detectors a few days after that conversation, and a stud I did not accurately detect. Instead of having a meltdown and smashing the both of them like The Hulk, I put that project aside and ordered the ProSense. After using it, as well as the magnetic finder, to Install 4 large bookcases on my living room wall, I can say without hesitation that this is the best product of its type on the market today. Now I haven't used every stud finder available, but I've used enough(more like not used) to form an educated opinion I think. It detects studs very efficiently, as well as other solid structures behind the sheetrock such as electric lines and junction boxes. The people who have complained about it not being accurate may not know much about the way electricians run lines, so they don't understand why there are often 2 things being detected at the same time. Honestly, the magnetic finder may be more useful than the ProSense, but using the two to locate, then mark studs is easy and efficient. The ProSense is a little awkward and difficult to position at first, but you get used to it quickly. I the two could be combined, as in the ProSense with a strong magnet built in, that would be cool. Overall I think Thai is a great product and worth the price for those of us who've demolished more than a few other nonfunctional finders.

Made it so easy to find studs to mount my tv, a little expensive considering i had to apply to amazon.com and pay for the import charges etc, you would think they would store some in Amazon uk and other countries, but still worth the money for the ease of use in finding stud walls more accurately.

Highly Reccommend Though, deffo a must have tool for your tool box.

There are tons of stud finders to choose from out there, but this sucker pretty much takes all the guess work out. Just pop in a couple AA batteries and away you go. I would upload some pictures but fellow reviewers have already done that for me, so why inundate you with the same thing.

I will say this stud finder is well worth the extra few bucks and will ultimately save you the aggravation that cheaper less accurate ones can cause.

Pros:
☺ Accuracy
☺ Durability

Cons:
None that I have noticed.

Overall: This will probably be the only stud finder you’ll ever need. Highly recommended.

Thank you very much for the 'Yes' helpful vote, and please feel free to comment or ask questions related to this product or other items I have reviewed on Amazon.

Forget the slide/calibrate type stud finders, this is the one to have period! Got it last night and went over all the walls that are waiting to hang something and found the studs instantly. I was hesitating to start drilling based on the info of my old stud finder because I wasn't confident in the results. Slide from the right you get one location, slide from the left and you get something different. Not with this baby, you place it on the wall and if nothing lights up just move it and you'll find that stud...every time and in the same place. Don't waste your time and money on anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, best stud detector I've tested so far
Reviewed in Canada on March 18, 2017

The point of having a stud detector is to find out where the studs in the wall are. You're taking the word of these machines as fact before you start punching holes into your precious walls. With that being said, these are notoriously hard to test. So to test and review this, I first put it up where I knew there was a stud (beside an outlet, where a 1110 box would be mounted directly against the stud). The detector detected 3 LED's worth of space, which is roughly the size of the stud. I then tested it in the storage room which has some open spots where the studs can be seen, due to renovations. I got the same readings. I am going to assume this is accurate, and with that being said, I love it. Good stud detectors are hard to find and there's a lot of risk that comes with punching holes in walls, so having a good one that works as well as this is going to be very handing when doing renovations.

Best one I've used so far. Not perfect, but as the first actually usable unit I've tried, I'm pretty happy. Super simple to use. Apply some pressure against the wall, and make several passes to be certain. Be sure to have good batteries. I balked at the price at first, but took the plunge when It went on sale. Glad I did. How does one set the value of a helpful tool when everything cheaper is garbage? If you NEED a stud finder, this one actually works well- buy it.
