I bought this to help protect the Ricoh GRIIIX from dust and damage to its lens as well as to accept a proper ND filter. The GRIIIX has a low max shutter speed and the internal ND filter was not adequate to keep it from stopping down to 7.1 in bright conditions to maintain exposure at 100 iso.
The NISI adapter keeps the camera relatively compact while allowing me to attach an adjustable ND filter as well as other diffusion filters when needed. It also provides some piece of mind to prevent dust and damage to the lens but time will tell if it can fully prevent dust from entering the GRIIIX.

When I added a 49mm CP filter onto the front it works fine in normal mode, but switching the camera to Macro causes the lens to protrude a little more, which knocks onto the filter and results in an error message and the camera shutting down. If you remove the filter and observe the lens you’ll see that there’s not enough clearance when in Macro mode.
