Is TickTalk 5 waterproof?
TickTalk 5 comes with IP67 water resistance to protect from minor splashes and spills. While IP67 in a laboratory setting can allow for submersion in up to 3 feet of still water for 30 minutes, we do not recommend wearing the device when bathing, swimming, or participating in other water-related activities due to the various water pressures within these categories. IP67 rating works best when the sealing ring on the protective outer casing has minimal damage. The variability of water resistance can be affected over time due to normal wear and tear along with exposure to different environments. Assuming your device is in good condition with no apparent damage or deformation to the sealing ring, and the back lid cover has not been improperly installed after inserting your SIM card, TickTalk 5 should not be damaged if it encounters splashing, rain, or if minor water exposure. Our Lifetime Limited Warranty does not cover from water exposure, but we do offer an Extended Warranty option to offer protection in the case water exposure does occur.
How long it lasts after a fully charge?
TickTalk 5 boasts a substantial 800 mAh battery, an upgrade from the 680 mAh battery in previous generations. Rigorous testing shows an average battery life of 48 hours with normal usage and up to 137 hours on standby. Actual battery life may vary based on network signal strength, feature usage, loaded applications, cellular network, Wi-Fi connection, and other factors.
What are the parental control features on TickTalk 5?
TickTalk is designed to be a safe smartphone alternative to keep your family connected without having to sacrifice peace of mind. Parents love being able to connect to their children when they apart while also giving their child independence. TickTalk 5 comes loaded with tons of parental controls, allowing Parents/Admins to approve all watch contacts so you know exactly who is calling or your watch, Block Unknown Numbers from contacting the watch directly, location tracking with history route options, SOS emergency contacts, disable the watch from being turned off, get alerts to any friends added, and more.
We only include features that will either promote personal connection, strengthening your child’s interpersonal communication skills, or building great habits early on like Reminders and Do Not Disturb Class Mode to promote focus and time management, our Activity Tracker to encourage living a healthier lifestyle, and more.
Does TickTalk have access to the internet?
No, TickTalk 5 does not have access to the internet or the ability to download social media apps. With research piling up of the effects social media and online content have on children’s mental and emotional development, we created TickTalk to give families a way to connect seamlessly while protecting children from exposure to inappropriate and unhealthy online content.
How much is TickTalk per month?
We include a free SIM card for every U.S. customer for an affordable, pay-as-you-go, no contract plan starting as low as $9.99 plus tax per month through TickTalk Wireless on either AT&T or T-Mobile's network.
