However it is also too wide to fit into many pencil sharpeners -- I have 6 sharpeners - manual and electric - in the house; and it would fit into none of them.
Luckily a sharpener is included in the box. However it results in a very shallow point. In other words, you need to sharpen more often than a normal pencil.
Also I noticed that when I use the included sharpener, I end up with a point that includes a slice of wood. This might be due to the 3-sided design, or to the lead not being correctly centered; or to my not putting equal force on the sharpener on all sides.
The result is a pencil which is not particularly good for long writing sessions - especially not in an office or school environment where sharpening is just an interruption to your chain of thought.
Lastly, I found that the lead was slightly crumbly - more like a carbon-based drawing pencil than a smooth writing pencil.
These pencils incredibly comfortable to use. I call them freaky, perspective-shifting pencils because when I pick one up it reminds me of my 9-year olds face when she picked one up. It looked familiar to her, but when she picked it up she immediately knew her life had been forever changed. She approves of them as well, and even asked why all pencils weren’t made this way. An answer to which I knew not. And now when I pick one up it causes me to contemplate all the things I don’t know, and a desire to learn more.
In addition to provoking the desire to contemplate the sheer vastness of the body of knowledge available to us as humans these pencils can be used to write!
Oh triangular pencils is there anything you can’t do?
Cons:
The sharpener that comes with them sucks, however I use it to get them started then use a bit of sandpaper to get it where I want. This is a temporary fix while I await a new sharpener.
Top reviews from other countries
Only wish a traditional pencil sharpener would work - it does not, due to the triangular shape, so once one is lost, it is truly gone.
I wonder if this seller will ever make a bulk purchase price... would like to buy 100/time, as I go through about 200/yr in our family alone.
