I'm in my 60's and not up to full speed, so I needed a saw to do the work for me.
After searching the net for days, reading reviews and watching videos, for a battery operated mini chain saw, I came to the Greenworks web page. To me, their mini chain saw just seemed sturdier, more efficient, than the others I saw on line. I purchased it through Amazon and received it within days. I also ordered an extra battery and chain for backup.
So far I have used the saw two days, cutting down and slicing up 5 small trees, the largest being 3 inches around. The mini chain saw performs just as i hoped it would! It is sturdy. easy to manage, and goes through wood easily while applying steady even pressure, no force needed. I'm glad I took my time searching for this gem.
The only things I did and do not like is that nowhere, in anyone's video that I was able to find, do they show you how much bar oil you have to apply at one time, or where exactly on the chain and bar you have to apply it. The chain saw come with a small 50ml bottle of bar and chain oil and instruction say to oil it every 5 to 10 cuts. There are saws out there that self oil but I liked the look of this one. I will have to purchase more oil.
The other thing I do not like, you need a magnifying glass to read the instructions, you really do, really. Even if you have 20/20 vision I think you would have a hard time.

Got this to do some yard cleanup and get rid of some lower dead branches on a large fir. Cut through 2-inch branches like butter. Light weigh and easy to use. I've been very happy with Greenworks products. I already had a mower, blower, and weed whacker. It's nice not to stink up my garage with gasoline.

You know those branches that are too big for loppers? This is such a great tool to cut them off the tree, or cut them down to size. I even used it to cut woody bush roots out of the soil (not a recommended use, but worked like a charm). Love this thing! Not as intimidating as a full chainsaw, and can use it with one hand.

I figured I’d buy, use up, and then buy a brand name.
But this is incredible.
I wasn’t careful in the beginning and the chain dislocated.
It was easy to re-align. I continued to cut and trim the overgrowth in my mother’s yard.
And I still haven’t used up the battery.
