    Left me wanting
Several vendors have rolled out WiFi 7 routers but at this time there is limited variety in WiFi 7 adapters because the completed 802.11be spec hasn't been finalized and ratified by the governing body; the IEEE. Also note that the Intel and Qualcomm chips in these early adapters don't support Windows 10 in their driver packages for the 6GHz band. There is a workaround for the Intel AX210 chip, its janky, and I'm not sure about any others. So basically; in order to use the highest width channel your router, endpoint, and OS need to support the standard. Triband will take some time to mature and propagate through the consumer retail space, late Q2 early Q3 of 2024 perhaps. This product's Amazon listing claims signal coverage is suitable for a "4+ bedroom house". That's pretty vague and so I went to the Linksys website where the claim is "each node covers 3,000 square feet". Now I don't know what sort of laboratory perfect conditions they were testing in, or if that's just a theoretical best case, but I got about 65% of that as radial coverage with half the spec in overlap, in a residence no brick/metal interior walls and LoS clear of large appliances. There is one multi-gigabit WAN ethernet port on each router node, all LAN ethernet ports are gigabit. This is a shame because it limits the wired backhaul to 1Gbps rendering the throughput potential of WiFi7 pointless in such a configurations. Now you can still achieve the 2.5Gbps rate but with configurations limited to exclusively to WiFi 7 compatibility. The naming convention uses the word "pro" and that to me implies that certain features will be included. Things like multiple multi-gig ports, ethernet bonding, dual-WAN, VLAN tagging, etc. Nothing in this package screams "pro" to me. I mean, there isn't even a USB port.

I had been using a Netgear Nighthawk X6 wifi router for many years. I recently started using a Roku stick on my TV for streaming. After a few days the Roku was complaining about the download speed being too slow. I did an internet speed test with my phone and it measured 88 MBS. I checked with Spectrum (my ISP) and I was paying for 500 MBS. I had Spectrum come to the house and test the signal at the cable entering the house. Their tester showed 500 MBS plus.
I decided to buy this product to see if it would solve my wifi speed problem. The setup took a little while to get through. I bought the 3 pack, and placed these units to give me good coverage throughout the house. I ran another speed test. I now had 480 - 520 MBS throughout the house. Problem solved…

I decided to upgrade over my early AC2200 versions from 2017 to get a bigger virtual "pipe" from the increasing number of devices on my home network. As an I.T. guy, I look for longevity and performance with the mentality of buy once cry once and these fell into that category. I got 7yrs out of the last model and looking to get that or more out of this new set which I end up buying 2 of them directly from Linksys since at the time, they had a huge sale. So as of now I have 6 units and rather than use them wirelessly, I have each hardwired in and its a nice feature that they all have additional ports to save on the hassle of needing smaller switch hubs in various locations. Setup was a breeze and it gives a warm fuzzy feeling when you see that lil 6 in the wifi signal on phones and other newer devices capable of utilizing wifi6.

I've been running an Intel NUC and with weird issues with its internal and external usb nics I've tried for VPN connections, the wifi portion of it coupled with the velop is a winner for me since its connection is 866mbps while my laptop gets up to 2200mbps

These are constantly dropping packets so any download takes multiple tries (if it ever finishes). Their support has no idea what I'm talking about and clearly has no networking knowledge. I've tried escalating, but I've gotten nowhere.

There's also huge issues with DHCP (seems to be a common theme among Linksys products). Luckily this can be mostly fixed by running your own DHCP server, but using the Linksys one is horrible. Renewing a lease takes forever and sometimes just doesn't work until the client tries requesting it again. The nodes also randomly disconnect with each other, probably because of the same DHCP issues.

None of the Wifi 7 routers are ready for primetime yet, just hold off for now and save your $900.

Products look good and are well packaged.
There is no instruction manual at all. You have to use the app.
I used the Velop to replace an older Linksys router with 4 other wired access point to cover my large 7,500 sqft house. The app crashed many times and I had to repeat the setup operation multiple times. When I finally got the system setup, I placed the 2 nodes at their final location and wired them to the main router with a CAT5 Ethernet cable. After rebooting, both nodes had a red light on. After checking various articles in line I reset the 2 nodes but could not get them to wok properly without fully resetting them, deleting them from the network. It took multiple attempts to “delete” them with a long delay before they appear as deleted. I finally re-installed the 2 nodes and they worked fine. However, one of the nodes showed as “not connected”. I had to power cycle it to make it work.
It took several hours and many frustrating attempts to make it work.

The mesh is now in place for 2 days and seems to to work well with a much stronger signal than with my previous system. So far it he been stable.

I also installed an older access point in the garage to have a better coverage for the garage door opener and this was easy to setup.

Overall a very frustrating, hours long installation experience but now that it is in place I like the performance of the system. Hopefully it will remain stable.

    Update June 15, 2034:
The mesh has be been installed for over a month and has worked flawlessly. Good sped, low latency and no need to reboot. It has been very stable so far.
