Top reviews from the United States
There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
-Fit- The 8s fit better in my ear than the 10s. Perhaps I should say more snug. I find them both comfortable, but the 8s fit a bit deeper in my ear and feel more secure. The 10s have a triangular shaped ear tip, so finding the right tip size to get them to seal properly for ANC. The 8s have a more standard style ear tip, so it's easier to get a seal for me. The one downside is that there is ever so slightly more of that occlusion effect where it feels like you have something plugging your ears, but its very, very minor compared to my older 75ts. I regularly worried about the 10s falling out, although they never did. I never once worried about the 8s, and I knew they were secure always.
- Sound - I'll acknowledge that the 10s sound a bit brighter, but they didn't have the same low end fullness that I like in the music that I listen to, that is until I tried the different ear tip sizes. I found that the 10s were a bit more shrill on the high end, even after I EQ'd them. The EQ certainly helped. The 8s had fullness without the harshness, though weren't quite as detailed. Listening to them side by side, I can certainly say that I heard just a bit more detail in the 10s, but it wasn't such a difference that it felt like a revelation like most of the big reviews were saying. I could FEEL the music more in the 8s than I could in the 10s. The 10s may be technically superior, but I liked the 8s better. The 10s are closer to the AZ60M2, with a slight edge going to those.
-ANC- This was a weird one for me. Typically, I'm able to use the ear tips that come preinstalled as my ear tip size of choice. With the 8s, I had no problem out of the box. The ANC was very solid, and actually was among the best I've personally tried (Airpods Pro 2 are still the top dog here IMO, and I have no intention of buying the Sony XM5s or Bose earbuds, so I cannot compare to those). Initially, I though the 10s ANC was weak. Once I changed out the tips though, it was much, MUCH better than I'd initially experienced. In using them side by side, I'd say the ANC is neck and neck, with a slight edge actually going to the 8s. I'd read a lot of people claiming that the ANC on the 10s were so much better than the 8s, but that has not been my experience at all. To my ears, they are almost identical.
All in all, I really like these. I thought the difference would be more significant given the price difference, but to me, they are extremely close. The question you have to ask is whether or not those minor differences are worth the price increase.

Wanted to replace my aged Bose Soundsport “wireless” to use with my iPhone and Windows work computer. Started by looking at the AirPods 2 Pro but I didn’t care for the stems and I may want to go with Samsung for my next phone. The Galaxy Buds were enticing for the form factor, but had limited capabilities with iPhone, per multiple online reviews. Considered Beats but wasn’t a fan of the integrated wing tips. Looked at various others like Bose, Sony, etc. but the form, size, and/or cost dissuaded a purchase.
I then came across the Jabras which promised to check the boxes of what I was looking for. It came down to the Elite 8 Active vs. the Elite 10’s. I went with these for the price point and online info about the fit. I’m super happy with my decision and am not looking back. They sound great, do everything I need them to, fit perfect, and the app is way cool…especially the white noise features. Grateful I found these.
However, I know other people may expect more out of them than just that they stay put. So, let me address a few things you might be interested in. First, the ANC is good, and if I hadn't had the AirPods Pro for a week before I got these, I'm sure I would have said it was top notch! But Apple really has done an incredible job with that H2 chip and ANC. The thing is, though, that I have a set of Bose over-ear QuietComfort IIs, that I wear on airplanes and such. Point being, that no earbuds are ever going to be able to touch those. And for daily wear, riding on a bus, or walking down the street, the AirPods were better, but not so much so that it was a deal breaker. Along similar lines, the HearThrough feature was definitely good, but once again Apple had the edge with its Conversation Awareness. However, I actually ended up turning that feature off when wearing the AirPods because I am a bit of a singer (I don't mean I'm good, I'm horrible, but that doesn't stop me from belting out the lyrics along with the artist). The singing would cause C.A. to kick in and the volume would drastic lower and outside noise would be let in. I know it may not so like much, but it is bad enough that the artists get the lyrics wrong every now and again when I am signing, to have C.A. wrecking it further was just too much. Transparency mode was very similar to HearThrough, both of them allowed enough of the outside world in that you feel safe running with it on, you don't have to run with just a single bud in (though both the Jabras and the AirPods support it).
In terms of music quality, they are both very very good. I am not an audiophile so I can't tell you about the lows and the highs (well, I could, but I would just be making something up). So, when I say they were both very very good, I mean that sitting on a bus with ANC on and my music turned up, made me feel like I could have been at a venue somewhere with the artist on stage. But, for around $200, they both should sound pretty darn good, so it is no surprise that they do.
Finally, if you are like me and virtually all your electronics are from Apple, then the AirPods are wonderful in terms of bouncing from device to device depending on what is happening. For instance, I could be surfing the net and watching a YouTube video on my MBP with the AirPods connecting to the computer. Well, if a got a phone call, and answered it, the sound would automatically jump from the MBP to the iPhone. And again when I was done with the phone call, it would jump back to the videos. This is a really cool nice feature that you definitely miss out on with the Jabras.
With all that said, I know it seems like the AirPods beat out the Jabras in virtually every way. But there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the Jabras had better battery life than the AirPods. And that is important to someone like me, who spends almost all day at a computer screen with earbuds in. Second, while Apple did win, the differences weren't so incredible that I felt like I was dealing with an inferior product when I put the Jabras in. The only time it was noticeable was when I was trying to compare them and was going back and forth to hear the difference. Both of them are extremely capable earbuds and I think anyone would be happy to receive either of them as a gift. Also, the Jabras are much more durable. You can actual submerge them in up to (I think) 5 feet of water. Bluetooth won't work under water, so you can't swim with them, but they would survive a couple laps in the pool if you were so inclined.
The last thing I would like to talk about is the touch controls. I never liked the touch controls on the AirPods, and the new volume by rubbing up on the little stalk was no exception. I found it didn't work all that well, and was just as likely to accidentally pause the song as I was to actually raise or lower the volume (which is what I was attempting to do). In truth, It was such a problem for me that after the second day I would just ask Siri to raise or lower the volume by 15% (or whatever). So, I much preferred the solid feeling "buttons" on the Jabari's, and I actually used those controls. Though, I had gotten used to using Siri to mess with the volume that I carried that over to the Jabras. Especially since it is much quicker to say, 'Sire, raise the volume by 10%" than it was to remember which side I was supposed to touch for raising the volume. To say nothing of actually holding the button down for a full second to start the volume change.
In the end, I needed my earbuds to be able to. stay with me while I wailed on my pecks, and the AirPods just weren't up for the challenge. So, as much as I love Apple products, I returned the AirPods and kept the Jabras. This was made easier by the fact that I still had a pair of AirPods Pros 1st Gens. Sure the ANC is not as good, nor is the battery life. However, they are able to switch quickly from MacBook to iPad to iPhone and back again. That ability was the only feature that I felt I would really miss out on if I gave up the Pods. And with the 1st Gens able to do it, there was no contest. The AirPods went back to Best Buy, while the Jabras stayed in my ears.
Oh, speaking of that, also I did want to mention that I found the Jabras to be incredibly comfortable. I often wear them all day, and I barely notice they are there. With the AirPods, since they don't stay in my ears, it was a constant struggle. And since I wanted them to stay in, I would sometimes push them in too far, or twist them around in weird ways with the result being ears that felt abused. And still the AirPods would fall out.

I've never had a good experience with earphones without wingtips so I was hoping for a better outcome with this pair. However, they don't sit in my ear and will eventually fall out, and during the shake test, they fell out pretty fast. I tried switching out the tips to see if that would change anything but it still had the same outcome.
As for sound quality, it seems okay but nowhere near my Jaybird Vistas because those sound good with a punchy bass. I tried messing around with the EQ but I don't have as much customization as my Jaybirds. I think if Jabra wants to market their products for active users they should consider putting in a wing tip for extra security because the current design doesn't offer much support or security.
