What is vacuum insulation?

Vacuum means the air between the outer and inner layers of stainless steel has been removed to create a vacuum insulation. It blocks heat from transferring through air (conduction). Zojirushi vacuum insulation also features a copper or aluminum layer tightly wrapped around the outside of the inner stainless steel layer. This copper or aluminum layer reflects heat (radiation), further minimizing the temperature change of your drink. Lastly, heat is blocked from escaping through the opening (convection) with a tightly closed lid.

Easy Easy to Clean

I bought this mostly on a whim.... bad habit, I know. However, I have been a Contigo fan for years but never liked how the caps were hard to clean - especially when I use a powdered creamer. The 'coagulum' stayed hidden in the non-accessible recesses and was gross - think 'black snot' when it does rinse out. So enter the Zojirushi. Everything in the cap that comes into contract with liquid is accessible and can be disassembled for easy, easy cleaning. No hidden leftovers. But, does it keep coffee hot? I think so but I usually go through a container full well before it would have a chance to cool. The cap mechanism is fool proof and works well and can be manipulated with one hand. However, one very, very interesting point I noticed right away and that is that the cap does not loose or trap heat from the beverage. Other designs; e.g., Contigo seem to loose heat from the cap. Thus, heat transfer to the cap and subsequent cooling of the beverage happens. Two negatives: 1. it does not fit under my Keurig brewer. This means you'll need to transfer your drink to the Zojirushi - that is inconvenient but I'm willing to put up with that. 2. The Zojirushi skinny. I have not tried it in my Mazda's cup holders. It will fit of course but how tightly remains to be seen. I like the Zojirushi but wish it was fatter and shorter. Five stars because of cleaning easily, operability and heat retention.

So I dont know how I got this bottle shipped from Japan for a grand total of $15.45. Normally its around $30ish give or take. I guess they must have had a massive sale. I got the 600ml version, which is 20oz for us Americans. Which is not that much but if you are near a water source you should be just fine. The finish is top notch. Love the dark navy blue color. The lock works very well. No leaks or accidental spillage anywhere. Very easy to clean and take apart. No straw so thats a plus for me.

Only con I can think of is that its not that easy to drink from because of the mouth design. Im used to just large open mouth designs so it took me a few days of use to get used to it. But its really not that bad once you do. I also read that if you pour liquid out it could splash around so just be careful when you do and it shouldnt really be a problem. Honestly I would pay $30 for this bottle. Im planning on buying a larger version soon and will continue to buy more when my family needs new bottles from this brand.

UPDATE: So after a couple of months of usage this is simply one of the best IF not the BEST water bottles you can buy. I purposely left a inch of water in it for about two weeks to see how much mold would build up. To my surprise, ZERO mold. Nothing. I dumped out the water and inspected with a light and I saw absolutely nothing. Try that with a Hydro Flask or any other bottle and you aint getting the same results. I dont know if its the material or coatings they use but that just blew me away. I ended up getting the much bigger version and paid full price. Worth every penny.

I have bought or been given many water bottles for my coffee at my desk, or to take it with my on long and short trips. I was dubious about information as to the length of tike that it would keep my coffee hot.
BOY WAS I SUPRISED. This light weight "mug" kept my coffee hot (just as though I had just poured it from
the coffee maker for over 5 hours. I love the one touch open which is so easy to use one handed when driving. I have not used it for other drinks, gut I can't imagine that it wouldn't work.
If you are looking for something like this I suggest you buy this one. I will be buying more to be given as gifts.

I use it for hot coffee and the heat retention is amazing. I need to be careful not to start out with the coffee too hot or it'll take an hour or more till it's drinkable, and it stays hot for most of the day.
The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because the box says (in English) to read the manual before using, and the included manual is in 100% hiragana, no English. Good luck with that.

I really like how the spring-loaded lid pops up about 3/4" of an inch when you press the button and "shakes off" and moisture on the inside of the cap and only springs open fully when you release the button. It's like a little two-stage press-and-release thing that keeps liquid from getting flung all over when the lid pops open. Kind of ingenious.

I ordered it in black and it works great but keep in mind if you order a dark color and use it outdoors, the sun will heat the outside pretty intensely.

Let me start by saying I'm writing this on my own I've gotten nothing to write this.

So I got this as a work bottle to just keep water so I don't use cups anymore. At first I was surprised at how nice it looked and it's solid for the price I wasn't expecting that. I just wanted a cheap 2 to 4 hour cold bottle for water. Let me tell you this thing will keep cold for like 6 to 8 hours with 2 ice cubes. Shocked I tell you shocked.

I've been using it daily for a week and I finally dropped it, 6ft straight onto concrete and it was full of water. A small dent a loud sound and it's perfectly fine. 10\10 would recommend. The lid is snappy and built well, easy to clean no weird small spots and the bottle itself is solid smooth metal and looks nice. I got the navy blue one.

Definitely will order another in the future to have one around the house.

Achei difícil limpar, foi preciso comprar uma escova apropriada e o bico mancha com o tempo se a bebida for escura (pode esfregar sal para remover). O bico "segura" muito a bebida (reduz a vazão), o que frustra um pouco se estiver com uma bebida gelada, mas ao mesmo tempo, evita acidentes caso a bebida esteja muito quente. Não faz milagres, mas mantém a temperatura da bebida muito próximo da temperatura em que foi adicionada ao recipiente por algumas horas. Para manter quente por mais tempo, recomendo preaquecer o interior com água quente (se for bebida fria, resfriar com água gelada). O mais incrível é que até hoje não vi água condensar no exterior, assim a deixo a garrafa dentro da mochila sem medo de molhar outras coisas.

He usado muchas termos en mi vida y simplemente nada mantiene una bebida más caliente durante más tiempo que esta. Leí tantas reseñas que es difícil creer lo bien que funciona. Lo sorprendente es lo mucho más pequeño que es en comparación con otras tazas que tienen la misma capacidad. Se siente como aproximadamente la mitad del tamaño.
