These socks are very hardy! They are on the thicker side, which means they can be a bit hot in summer, but it also means you won't wear holes through them very quickly! Not to mention that black ankle socks match with everything in your closet. I've been wearing this type of sock for years, and I will probably continue to fill my sock drawer with these bad boys until the day I die.

I'm a Gen X-er who misses all-over cushiony socks with a terrycloth interior, but it seems that a few years ago all of the sock manufacturers stopped making those. I actually have super bony feet with a high instep, so I miss having nice terry loops protecting the tops and sides of my feet when I run and walk in sneaks (HINT HINT!). Ah well, these low-rise socks by Hanes are pretty cushiony on the soles for exercise, with a plain knit everywhere else. I appreciate that they come in two size ranges. They also stay in place when I walk and run. The minimal packaging is more environmentally friendly and the price per sock can't be beat.

I learned to trick years ago when I was in the hospital and he had to do your own laundry I was there for a long time… Someone showed me a trick and that was taking your Footes or your socks and safety pinning them together so you wouldn’t lose them in the washer because you know how we all famously end up with missing socks from the washer the dryer? Well if you safety pin them together, they stay together… But most of the time I can’t find the stupid safety pins and I end up with missing socks so about every three months I’ll buy a 10 pack of these and black and they’re great because they’re all cotton and they’re nice and fluffy and warm on the inside. They’re thick enough to wear in winter boots and but not too thick to wear with your sneakers in the summer. And I’m someone who was born with a numb foot so I have to take really good care of my feet which is making sure my socks are always clean and they have to be cotton and I trust Hayes above any other brands because there’s always good quality and you should always have 100% cotton on your feet, no matter what your feet need to breathe to stay healthy and so these are a staple in my cart all the time. Considering I’ve purchased maybe five bags of these in the past year I should have 50 pairs of Footes in the apartment, but I don’t so they still disappear so I’ll just keep ordering them as per usual…
