Don't have money for a Creami but already have a stand mixer? Buy this.
I've been on a strict diet for 3-4 months, and I see so many viral videos of low cal/high protein ice cream made in the Ninja Creami. Really wanted to try them out, but didn't want to spend $200 on a Creami ... I got this instead to pair with my stand mixer, and it turns out all those Creami recipes work fantastic with this ice cream maker. Difference is here you are freezing the mixing bowl ahead of time instead of freezing the ice cream base ahead of time.Attached picture is less than 300 calories and couldn't even fit it all in that one bowl. Consistency exactly like soft serve ice cream.You should be freezing the bowl 16 hours in advance, but I've found that if I clean the bowl asap after churning ice cream (which is a bit tricky with water wanting to freeze to the sides, but it can be done with hot water and drying off very quickly), you can put the bowl back in the freezer while it's still mostly cold, and be ready to make ice cream again sooner than 16 hours.Not sure exactly where the line is, but ice made anabolic ice cream for breakfast, bowl back into freezer, and then made more 8 hours later with zero issue.So, pretty specific use case, but if you are a bodybuilder type who already has a KitchenAid mixer, this is a very good alternative to the Ninja Creami, recipes turning out great for me so far.
