Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

With some programing and media the picture quality, brightness, and contrast are nice. Though I wouldn't say that the 4K content it displays is on a par with the 4K content displayed by non projector 4K televisions. On some of those sets the picture quality is liquid. On this BenQ not so much.
I liked the easy setup. Compared to the projector it replaced, an ancient Sanyo 1080P, it's lighter and simpler to mount on the ceiling. I did have to get rid of the mount I used on the Sanyo as it was not compatible with the BenQ. But I replaced it with a mount I purchased on Amazon for under $40 dollars.
What i didn't like:
Fan noise. Compared to the behemoth of a Sanyo projector that I finally removed (btw that thing was hanging there since 2005 with several bulb changes in between) this thing sounds like my electric toothbrush. It's noticeable. By contrast the Sanyo was whisper quiet. During silent passages I now look up and stare at the projector and wait for sound to increase in the programming.
The Android Dongle:
Lets face it. Most of us are hanging this thing in a dedicated media room or living room. Everything that works off some type of network connection in our setup is connected via ethernet cable. I know that some of us don't have that luxury. But would it have killed them to throw in a lousy ethernet jack. I don't use wifi for media. Which is what the Dongle is. I use an AppleTV 4K and have it fed by network cable. The Dongle is useless and it was a pain in the rear at startup because the projector would always default to it. I disabled it.
Things I'm looking forward to?
Trying out the 3D. Never had a set with 3D.
More 4K content. Watched a Marvel movie on the Disney channel and the quality of the picture was almost on a par with those liquidy sets I mentioned.
FYI: I still use a Harmony remote through out our home. It integrated perfectly with the projectors remote.
HORRIBLE! They have been stringing me along as I ask for a refund. Plus if you are a gamer you can’t play on the screen unless it’s perfectly centered on the wall or there is a delay!

Second unit seemed to work OK. After 30 days, it started giving pixelated pictures and I need to restart it to fix. I am very disappointed with the product quality.
