There are cheaper cushions available on Amazon but this one is thicker and seems much more durable. The nursing supervisor at my mom's Assisted Living facility recommended this one because it lasts so much longer than the inexpensive ones. The gel cells are smaller, providing more support than an inexpensive one we tried. I anticipate this will be good for daily use for years.

I am just a little bit disappointed in this seat cushion. It was recommended to me as one that is good for heavier people, but actually it tends to compress a little too much. My office chair has a very hard seat, and after a while it again becomes uncomfortable. This cushion does resume its original thickness readily, so after I stand up for awhile it is comfortable again and I believe it will be long-lasting, but I would hope someone who is using it in a wheelchair would have regular assistance to relieve the pressure.

I am a Occupational Therapist and I love this cushion. I used it in my dad's wheelchair and he never got a wound on his buttocks and he would be up in his wheelchair for an extensive period of time. I recommend this cushion to my patients. It is no hassle unlike the Roho cushion.

I bought one of these and it was too big for my office chair so I tried it in my recliner. The padding in that seat has gotten thin so it needed help. I had been using a folded up thin blanket, but this cushion worked wonderfully well. I ordered a smaller size for my office chair. When I used it the front edge corner dug into my thighs so I trimmed off just a little to round it slightly, knowing that would void the warranty. I wasn't worried because I am so happy with the other cushion, but I really wish I hadn't because it doesn't work in this chair. When I sit down it is OK, just OK, but when I move around the whole cushion shifts and flattens under me, becoming uncomfortable, unstable feeling, and no it longer has the grid that gives me the air I bought it for. I would say if you are buying it for a chair that you are going to sit still in, go for it, but if you are going to use it in a rolling office chair and are going to be moving around, look for another option.
