Purchase:Sonos Arc, Sub Gem 3, (2) ERA 100 Home Theater, Samsund UN55DU8000F 4K Curve TV. I have been searching and testing different home theater solutions for our master bedroom. I was injured and have been spending time recouperating so I wanted to splurge a bit.Let’s start with the TV. The Samsung Curved 4K HDTV came in at a price point of only $550. It’s connectivity to Alexa, Samsung Cloud and other supporting technology had my attention. It has plenty of connections on the backside for you to add a lot of components and includes eArc so you can connect it to your AV system as a one and done.I found myself connecting to the ears and moving on. I have an Apple TV. Because of my quadriplegia, in rough Best Buy in to mount the TV and help me run cables. For the speakers:I chose the Sonos Arc, Sub Gen 3, and torches ERA 100’s as my rear speakers. Since everything is wireless and Bluetooth I was pretty excited.I am a developer in real life and though this would be pretty straight forward. I added the sound Bar first to my TV and wireless. Right off I noticed the sound bar would not discover the 5G network. After some reading, it only communicates on standard wireless networks. And you have to use your iPhone or Apple device on that same network. Ok, don’t panic, let’s keep going.I then made sure the TV could interface the sound bar. So far so good. Now let’s add the two rear speakers and sub. These were able to see the 5G network but not the standard wireless. So now I have 3 speakers on bedroom 1 and 1 speaker on bedroom. The directions tell you can merge these.I purchased a new Logitech Harmony 915 remote with hub. The Samsung remote is useless. The speakers use the Sonos app to connect to each other and allow you some other fine control. The app is horrible. I’m constantly fighting to keep the speakers connected to each other, and when you have to reconnect the bar to the other speakers you totally loose sound and have to use the remote to bring the sound back. At the same time the sound control coming from your iPhone app could be at a level that is blowing you away. For the Sonos speakers I’m in at a cost of around $1600, the fact that an app can make it feel like a total waste or at least the price point is over by $1000, I’d say don’t waste your money until Sonos fixes the app. All the speakers should be on the same network. I’m learning how to use the Logitec remote to control the speakers, but since Sonos is using an app.Overall, it’s not a bad purchase but I feel like each company tried build in technology that leaves the user in a fight. I’d recommend you do more research. I would have returned all this but I had an unexpected hospital stay that put my return time past the allowed window by 4 days.I’ll learn it, if I just can’t make it work, I’ll sell it. Maybe I’ll get lucky and Sonos will step in and help.I hope this detail helps someone.

We already owned a Beam Gen 2 and Sub Mini but, when re-configuring things in our new apartment, the TV and the Beam got moved to the spare bedroom/office (happy wife, happy life). I did some research and the best way I could come up with to be able to listen to music with reasonable sound quality in the living room/kitchen area was to pair the Sub Mini with something else as unobtrusively as possible. That something else turned out to be the Era 100. Since our space doesn't lend itself to a stereo pair facing listening seating, I decided to start with one Era 100 and the Sub Mini to see how things sounded. Bottom line: it's not the floor-standing transmission line speakers with A/B power amps I used in our houses years ago, but it's very good for our current situation. The combo sounds very nice (I'm still playing with the EQ and sub settings) and looks good in the living room.

This is my 6th speaker. I love the quality and clarity of the Sonos speakers. This is my second era 100 and it’s amazing how much sound comes from such a small speaker. The ability to Bluetooth to this device is nice but works best with airplay or the app (needs work). I can’t say enough about the clarity of this speaker. The highs and lows are great and the ability to wirelessly link them together fills my whole house with music.

I had two very old Alexa systems to replace - I got an Amazon Echo for one and a Sonos Era 100 for the other. They look similar, sound similar, the Echo is $50 cheaper.

The Sonos Era 100 is a disaster. The software is very buggy. I added both Sonos and Alexa voice assistant, the Sonos one is very annoying, the Alexa one sometimes doesn't work (same commands are recognized with the actual Alexa). After changing wifi password I spent several hours with support to get it changed on the Era 100 - eventually they told me I would have to use it wired (not wireless). Even then after factory resetting it (part of debugging process with support) I could not add back voice assistant. Try googling that - some of the solutions are hilarious - "remove amazon shopping app" and then try to add.

I'll be replacing the Sonos with another Amazon Echo. The old Alex systems were also very buggy, but the new ones seem pretty solid. Privacy is an issue with Amazon, but effectively you have to use the Alexa integration with Sonos for it to be any good, so that's a wash.

First of all, I'm admittedly an audiophile snob. So keep that in mind when reading my comments. This fit, finish, and execution of this product is excellent. The app and setup process was completely troublefree and I had the pair of these configured and playing in stereo in about 10 minutes. I really appreciate the tactile control on the top of the speakers for pause, play and volume up and down.

The sound quality was a mixed bag for me. The top end is very even and without any stridency. There is a modest amount of mid range suckout. This was somewhat disappointing for me as I listen to a lot of female jazz singers. Vocal reproduction is often missing the natural timbre that you get from higher end speakers and headphones. Vocalist can sound "thin" and somewhat nasley. And then there is the bass.

Once these speakers are placed properly (8-10 feet apart) and the listener is positioned to create a triangle from the speakers, the bass is somewhat shockingly good for speakers of this size. I had to turn the loudness feature off and dialed the bass down (-2) in the EQ setting. The response from the bass with these settings is still stong and punchy, and there is even a bit of texture to the sound. How Sonos is able to accomplish this with a speaker these size, I just don't understand.

The convenience of the stereo pair and overall performance of the speakers make these a keeper for me despite being an audiophile. I'll probably look to add a Sonos sound bar in the future.

I have owned a few other stereo systems. And the Sonos has been the best sounding for me. I paired these with Sonos sound bar and sub mini. It really feels like I am sitting in a movie theater. You can hear every crackle and boom. Rewatching The Force Awakens was spectacular

Purchased for x-mas gift for someone who uses phone to listen to music. Set-up was a little harder than anticipated; you need to read on-line instructions. I expected to be able to pair this by bluetooth straight out of the box; I was wrong. It MUST be set-up on a Wi-Fi network first and ownership claimed via e-mail (these are good things albeit unexpected). The sound quality is mind blowing! As is the volume level capability

Saludos.
