I send a lot of boxes overseas and it’s always the same concern-will the tape withstand the trip and the weight of the contents? I can say with 100% certainty that this tape will. It’s super adhesive and strong. The only drawback is that you can’t use a tape gun because it’s so damned sticky.

It’s hard to get fired up about tape, but for the very heavy boxes (small but heavy!) that I had to pack, I turned to this product. It did what I needed it to do and held everything together just fine. It is better than the cheap no-name brands of fiberglass tape. I have tried other brands and they don’t stick as well.

I received those boxes during my visit in the Philippines and seen first hand that these survived the trip with no failures, peeling or tears at all. This is great, trustworthy strapping tape and is also excellent for reinforcing box seams, edges and corners. Unless you're production-packing, sharp scissors are your best bet for precise cuts - a dispenser may leave ragged strings. I'm packing for a move and using a lot of Scotch clear 2" packing tape, but when it comes to heavier items I use this tape to (fingers crossed), keep boxes from splitting. You can pay less for lesser tape ... and expect results commensurate with your expenditure. So far on this move I've used 3 rolls of this tape, along with 12 rolls of the clear tape. I bought one roll of Scotch filament tape  Scotch Filament Tape 897 Clear, 48 mm x 55 m (Pack of 1)  but it's so heavy-duty I'm almost afraid of it - I WOULD recommend the filament tape for interstellar flight!
