Littel hand remote died after 6 monthsLisathe little hand remoted died after 6 months, you can still open and clock from the utton on the blinds istelf but it would be nice to be able to sit in bed and open adn clise the blind and I cant find any way to get a replacement clicker button.3
Broke in less than a yearCallieThese were great while they lasted. We bought 6 along with the smart hub. Install and set up were fairly simple. After less than a year, one of the blinds stopped responding completely. It does not work via the app or with the manual buttons. Contacted Ikea for help, but they do not stand behind their products. Check reviews of these on Reddit and you’ll find many similar stories. Now a second blind is starting to fail, only a matter of time before it’s stuck in the fully closed position like the other one.1
Work well, battery life is INCREDIBLELarryI have had these for 6 months and while the pairing process can be cumbersome (just watch YouTube when you need to for this part) the actual functionality of these with the remote is pretty flawless. I have 4 of the biggest shades all in a row on 1 remote and they all work. In 6 months, I've only had to charge the batteries once! These are simply, the best value shades on the market.5
Great blinds, awesome value!AmyEasy to install and easy to operate!5
Great ikea, iffy functionalityRyanI got these about a year ago and while i love them when they work, one of them constantly rolls up crooked and has warn out the siding. They also change the length I've set by a couple inches every once and while. Lastly, the metal bar at the bottom of the blind constantly gets caught on the ledge on the bottom of my window thats used to open and close it. The battery life is incredible. You van link multiple blinds to a single remote that they come with, but you cannot link the extra remotes that you dont need to anything else, rendering them useless.3
Happy purchaser!BethneyThe down button was broken on one of two blinds I purchased. The chat for ikea was super helpful and unfortunately had to refund me for the time being instead of sending a replacement because the size I needed was currently out of stock. Overall I’m super pleased with blinds and will be purchasing more. 4 stars is because I am having to deal with one being messed up. 4
Missing hardware and batteryVerified ReviewerProduct arrived quickly, which is an improvement for IKEA. However, the blinds could not be used because someone removed the battery from the device. The instructions are beyond awful. No screws.2
Works wellJerryI bought one of these for a high window in my 2 story foyer. I needed something on the window to block ability to see into our 2nd level at night. The window is about 15+ feet off the floor, which made a manual shade impractical because I would need to leave it closed all the time. I want the natural light during the day.
I installed this shade 2 weeks ago and connected it to my Smartthings hub. I use an automated routine to close it after sunset and open it after sunrise. It was very easy to install and add to Smartthings. So far the battery seems good and other reviews suggest it should last ~6 months with just 2 movements per day.
The only downside is that it's louder than expected. Not a big deal for me because the benefit far out ways it. I was also lucky there was a size that fit my window as the sizes are not customizable.5
5 Year Warranty! MatthewI purchased 14 of these blinds back in 2019 when they first came out. Overall they have been great. A couple have been replaced because sometimes at a certain point, they just stop working. However, IKEA has honored the 5 year warranty and sent me a couple replacements! Great customer service for such a large company. With the replacements I have received, I can tell they are making an effort to improve the product. For example, the operational buttons on the blinds are easier to press now and it pairs automatically with my previous remote after adding it to the proper “group”. So easy! Some might find the setup frustrating, but the app guides you pretty well, and once you figure a few things out it’s a piece of cake. It also works with Apple HomeKit and all my blinds are automated for sunrise/sunset. Amazing! I can also control these remotely.
Although there have been some hiccups along the way, I am very satisfied with this product and so glad I made the investment.5
Like them but one broke after two weeksMatthewI had a hard time setting it up. Also didn't know they require the $70 hub. Works best if you don't bother with the remotes. Once it was finally set up I was pretty happy, but one stopped working unexpectedly after two weeks. Returned it and got a new one. Hope it was just a fluke but I can't rate them highly.2
Highly recommendVerified ReviewerI have 12 of these, all linked to Hubitat Elevation. The IKEA hub is not needed. The first blind I bought was right when they became available for sale several years ago. All 12 blinds open at sunrise and close at sunset. The batteries last about 2 months before needing a recharge. I recommend you buy a spare battery. My windows are not a standard size, so I cut them with help from a YouTube video. 5
Excellent for price, wish there were some more optionsJaysonLove this shade. It stays connected to by Hubitat well and reports back it's status. There are some options that would make it that much better though: an optional valance would be nice, the bottom bar could be more weighted, and an option to hardwire instead of the battery would be great. However, with a little DIY, all these things can be accomplished.5
Love These Blackout ShadesJamesWe have the Fyrtur blackout shades covering the wall of windows in our living room. Watching TV during daylight hours is much more enjoyable without all that light. I just got this shade to block out the glare on the computer monitor in my office. I highly recommend these for anyone wanting to block out the light.5
WORKS FINE AND SIMPLEVojinVery satisfied. It works simple and without any problem5
Loving my blindsJohnsonHave never cleaned my windows in the past 5years with those traditional blinds in place. These blinds are bringing in more light whenever I need it with just an ask to Alexa. Battery life seems to be good. And my windows are so clean now because of the ease to clean them with these blinds and they improved the indoor living experience. I got a total of 8 blinds. The first two I paid a little extra and the last 6, I saved $300 during the Thanksgiving holidays. Loving them so far.5
No warranty and brokenAntonioThey don’t have any warranty. Broken after 8 months. No recourse but to buy another one. I’d recommend to avoid 1
Just installed 5 blindsGreggJust finished installing 5 of these blinds, 2 different sizes. While the mounting brackets are included, screws are not. Biggest disappointment was that batteries for the remotes are not included - CR2032. While the instructions have directions for controlling up to 4 blinds with 1 remote, that's not what I want as I have 4 different windows in this room - so I have 5 different "repeaters" plugged into 5 outlets in the room. Suggest securing a power supply to plug all these into. Lastly, the battery that goes into the blinds takes HOURS to charge - I hope they last a while (cycles). Generally, straight forward install, quiet and I think they'll work for their intended purpose. 4
I wanted to like them...DaltonI bought 2 units. One of them is defective. The other the remote control stopped working.
The fabric for the blinds are really good, but the motor is not. I will try to replace them to see if I got better luck.1
So coolAndrewLove the ability to tell Siri to close the shades. 5
1 and 7 will failEnkuAfter almost 2 years, 1 in 7 failed, and Ikea will not replace them.3
