Product Description

Power Grid Recharged has all the strategy and fun of the classic first edition, but adds some updates that improve the (already great) gameplay. What better way to earn money than with electric power?!! But how should you do it? Will you use old-fashioned coal or oil? Maybe you’ll be on the forefront of burning garbage. Nuclear power is tempting, as long as you can acquire uranium. You can always be independent of resources if you go the ecological route. However you decide to generate the energy, you’ll have to compete with your opponents not only for the most attractive power plants, but for the necessary resources and the sites to build your network of energy distribution. You’ll need to watch your opponents closely, carefully manage your money, and expand your network thoughtfully in order to generate income. The player that is able to build the largest network AND successfully power it will be the winner.

Game play has been updated with this version to level the playing field and has made the game even more interesting.

This game was a hit over Christmas! I bought it for a power distribution electrical engineer and the whole family enjoyed it. Even a former power finance guy who hates games had a good time! The rest of us had no relation to power and thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

Reading through all the rules and understanding it fully was a bit of a challenge initially, but once we got going, it was extremely fun and competitive. I loved that it wasn't a game where people are miserable that are losing significantly; they were still enjoying it and going for the win.

It is a time consuming game though, so make sure you have several hours for it. Of course that depends on the size of the group also. We played it wil 6 players and it took about 2.5 hours.

The best way to describe it is Monopoly meets power distribution. If there is someone in your life that works with power and energy, they're sure to love it!

Bought the game last week and used it for a game night over the weekend. The game board and pieces are all well-built and does not feel flimsy or cheap. The game is relatively easy to learn if you take your time. It's not a quick read of the directions and then off you go. We slowed down and went over the rules and then again over each step as we played. Was a lot of fun and the time passed quickly.

Enjoyable game for more than 4 players. There are two versions / sides: Germany (easier) and US (advanced). There is a learning curve, but we played the game several times over a week, enjoying trying various tactics and forays into commodity trading. Highly recommended.

The game builds up and you're sitting at the edge of your seat for the final result - will someone block your path? Did you do your math right? Will you power more than the person that's ending the game?! Image of Fitbit tracking heat beat as we played the game. The game is like ticket to ride but with more complexity.

This is a family favorite - in groups varying from ages 12 to 60, we have enjoyed playing Power Grid for years. This is a newer version than our old copy, and I'm buying it as a gift for a family that also enjoys board games.

I love this game so much because of the simplicity in how you play it, and yet there is much detail and planning you can go into if you so wish. There are several elements of chance, bargaining and strategy that can have the leaderboard going back and forth all the way through and you never really know who will win until the end. Highly recommend.
