From the manufacturer

Cryptid
Cryptid 2

In this unique deduction game of honest misdirection you are all cryptozoologists, trying to be the first to discover definitive proof of a cryptid in the wilds of North America. Each player will be given a unique clue – one piece of crucial information about where the creature lives. When combined, the clues identify a single space on the map – the creature's habitat.

Cryptid
Cryptid 3

Each player's clue either states an area where the creature can be found or where it cannot be found, based on the terrain and structures on the board. During the game, you will ask each other questions with the aim of guessing each other's clues. The first player to correctly use all of the clues to find the habitat wins the game!

First of all, this game is a great quality, and well made all around. The wooden pieces are so fun to place on the board and very well utilized. The board pieces themselves are thick and durable.

The game itself is a better version of Clue, but there is so much more to keep track of for a group that wants that extra challenge! And the fact that a player can walk away from the table, miss what happened, and come back to find all the information on the board is excellent! And if a player guesses wrong, they can keep playing! Just a lovely game!

The cons are that the complexity of trying to solve a game could limit certain players. Luckily there is two "modes" of normal and hard. But if you plan on playing more than one game I would stick to normal mode so your brain doesn't melt trying to remember all the possibilities

I've bought this game for myself and now for a few of my friends. If you like the sleuth, deduction, clue-ish type game with some twists, this is a game you should have hands down!

Simple and fun deduction game that anyone can learn and enjoy racing to find the one correct spot on the board.

    Pros:
    -Quick and easy game setup.
-Simple deduction as a race makes out thinking opponents fun and exhilarating.
-Only two options per turn makes turns easy yet very important. (either try and figure out one persons clue or possibly give away your clue in hopes to find multiple clues and possibly winning the game)
-Game allows players to be tricky and hide their clue as long as possible the more you understand the game.
-Limitless combinations of game setups create fresh puzzles every experience. (online website creates random setups for you)
-Perfect amount of game time ranging from very quick (game ended in 2 minutes after a very lucky guess) to about 30 mins max to figure out the puzzle.

    Cons:
-Can bring some AP during turns, thinking maybe bring in a sand timer to limit player turns time.
-Someone can win on a lucky guess but still ends up being a fun memory and doesn't feel like a waste of time because the games are light and quick.

Overall well worth the time and money to play and experience something like this with anyone and everyone.

P.S. Hopefully the designer is going to complete the two player variant soon like he's stated on the BGG forum.

First off, I love the game. It's super fun to play. I agree the game has basically nothing to do with monsters, but that's not important to me.

Things that would be nice: 1. Ziplocs! What kind of game gives you ONE resealable bag for that many different colored pieces? 2. More pieces. One of our players ran out our very first time playing. 3. A list of clues you can actually write on (especially dry erase).

We're huge deduction game fans. And this is one quickly became one of our favorites.
    Somethings that it does that:
    * Adds a great visual element to classic deduction
    * Screwups can easily be fixed. Nothing worst than one mistake that ruins the game.
    * Great replay-ability. Love the modular board and different levels of play.

    Things it gets wrong:
    * It really needs a deduction note pad to keep track of your clues. You can print out some great ones from boardgame geek, but it's really should have been included.
    * Could really use more thematic elements. We're hunting mythical creatures, but all we get is triangles and cylinders!

I whole heartedly suggest this game!
