just wanted to communicate a quick message. not that i want to focus on negatives but these things jumped immediately as not so great at me when using the camera for the first time.for all of this i subtracted 1 star. From all i was reading i do expect that all other function perform as described.1. It said charging can be done through USB cable, so i was hoping that for long-term exposure (like astro photography etc) one can add an external battery to keep it going bit NO:"Even if charging is in progress, it stops when thecamera is turned on."that is what the manual says and i checked it is true2. the EVF is activated by eye contact. basically the moment the EFV is darkened. the weird thing is when reviewing images on the LCD and then you look through the EFV to see more details etc the camera switched to the regular recording mode. to see the image in the EVF you have to put your eye on it and THEN switch to viewing mode.on all other Pen cameras i use the EVF-1/2 and it is switched by a button on the EVF which i like better.3. the battery door has no automatic lock when it is closed, you have to manually move a little slide. also different from previous Pen's. i though it was broken.4. autofocus seems ok but have not directly compared to my EP5 and EPL9. once thing that bothered me on that older cameras was that they did not focus well on the moon at all which disappointed me a lot (that was with the 14-150mm zuiko).5. EVF: clearly the external EVF-1/2 have the advantage that they are articulate. meaning you can orient them 90 degrees up which is very convenient for many situations. now that would be great to do here too. or they could have added the port to use the EVF in addition when needed.update1:(2) i found out that the automatic switching of the EVF can be turned off with a button next to it - very good!Update 2, Jan 2 2021Did my first shooting outdoors. AF works very good compared to my epl9 and ep5. It even focussed very easily to the moon. The 2 dials on the top are very convenient to quickly change key parameters.I explored the HDR function a little but have not seen too dramatic impact. On my phone I use Snapseed for HDR and feel it has more impact on the image. But so far so good.I also played with the Art14,splash color, function and it is working well.More later2021 january update 2:tried the nightscape mode for the stars. everyone who has interest in that one probably knows the Pleiadies (see picture). this was taken handheld with Zuiko lens 40-150mm, not bad overall. the camera takes 8 frames with 1/10 sec each and combines then. outcome is not bad at all. to get the focus to work i had to point first to another brighter star and kept eh release button pressed half down when pointing then to the barely visible Pleiadies (this was in the city so no really dark sky). this scene mode does not allow for manual focus which would be nice.

I am absolutely in love with this camera! It has a chic old-school design with great processing power. I bought this for a month long trip through Europe and it served me well. The pictures are high quality and clear, while the camera is lightweight and durable. The Olympus app made downloading my pictures incredibly easy and straightforward, all you need is Wifi. The battery lasted a whole day of exploring with a relatively quick recharging time. I am so impressed with this camera and it's pictures, it's become my go-to and prefer it over my iPhone. This camera is a must-have in beginner-intermediate's camera collection as it's size, aesthetic, and quality are top-notch for an entry level camera.

I own an OMD EM10 M2 for the past 3+ years, and it is a good companion for street, and hobby photography. I was waiting for 20MP EM10 models, and finally it arrived. There was a brief offer from Amazon on this camera body - black for $459, i immediately clicked it, i like silver, but its ok. The truepicVIII processor is amazing, 4k video, low light focus is much better, image stabilization is better, and once you focus, fhe focus stays even if you move the camera. USB charging is great, no need for the bulky charger. There is noteable difference in the picture quality, color, and contrast. Again there are many pre set filters available. All the features in palm size compact, you won't regret.

If you want a point and shoot like small camera, and convert that into a professional camera in a blink of an eye, then this is the one. I tried this with my 25mm, 45mm prime leases, and the pictures are amazing. It amplifies my street photography, and portraits. This is a pure delight hobbyists camera, under the budget.

Compromises: Plasticiky compared to M2, look wise still my M2 silver is better. Need careful handling, i don't think it will survive a drop on the floor. Menus are boring/monochrome, Video ok for starters. Dont know what is the future of OMD series, as Olympus is changing hands, but this camera will go for me another few years.

Easy to use and has lots of features that help me as a beginner. Very light and fits well on my hand. Sometimes the automatic viewfinder can get glitchy and not sense that the camera is away from your eye and you need to see through the lcd screen, but a simple wipe of the viewfinder sensor fixes it. This camera might be lacking to a more advanced photographer. Autofocus can be a bit finicky to use depending on the subject, but it does not bother me as much as I don't shoot fast moving subjects.

I selected this camera because I need something that was compact, easy and produced high quality images for my business. This camera has done just that. Images are great, stabilization works smoothly. The built-in filters are also a fun bonus. Highly recommend if you're looking to improve your images beyond an iPhone yet don't have the time to learn all the ins and outs of photography and more advanced cameras.

I sent my OMD EM10 m2, along with the 12-42 pancake lens to a friend in South America, who needed a camera. I loved that camera and lens combination. I replaced both, with an OMD EM10 m4 kit. I was wary of criticisms of the newer model. Too much plastic, feels cheap, some say. I don't agree. This camera feels just as solid to me as the m2. I have no issue with plastic, as metal can scratch and dent in ways that plastic will not, though I'm still concerned with stories about a weaker lens mount and tripod mount. The m4 is somewhat less customizable than the m2, but it is sufficiently customizable for me. Autofocus and capture are faster than the m2. I also have the original OMD EM1, and a couple of primes, and the 12-40 2.8. I prefer the feel of the EM10.

Excellent for my relatively novice skills. Might even be great for more experienced individuals. Quite compact.

An exceptionally small light weight camera with very good image quality.

Image stabilisation in the body means you can photograph a book shelf of books and read the titles.

Search You Tube for e-m10 setup. The camera is easy to use but has a lot of hidden features tucked away. Also if you manage to click the wrong button in the menus you'll need to know how to get back to normal.

if you've research which camera to buy and already picked this one and is just debating whether to get it or not, I have no regrets after I use it. It's very nice to use as a first time photography beginner moving on from phone.
