An easy to learn, but intense party game!

An easy to learn, but intense party game!
My friends, family, and I love playing this game. It has a pretty easy premise. I would say the fastest way to teach the game is to just jump right into it! I love that there are two different decks to add some variation and increases the game's replay-ability. So far, everyone we have taught it to loves it, even if it does raise the anxiety levels of just about everyone at the table (in a good way of course!).

This is the "travel edition" of a larger board game...and a perfect size for taking to a group gathering. It is easy to learn; instructions are in the box and also on you tube. The joy is the quick pace and the addition of the wild cards and "cascading" add surprises just when it seems the game is being conquered. The only draw back is that the two decks are good for a couple times; the addition of the other decks included in the board game will be helpful if using this during a week at the beach. This is suitable for teens through senior adults. It may be frustrating for younger kids since it draws on vocabulary, experience and memory.
It is an easy, fun pick-up game that brings groups together through laughter.

We play this game often with our college aged young adults , it’s engaging, funny , witty.
We always lose against our kids but it’s very good for us as middle aged parents to keep our brains sharp, to keep them away from their phones!!
Highly recommend

The following review was written by Lauren, one of my fourth grade students.

Anomia is a game that can be played up to six people. It is a quick talking game that goes pretty fast.

Directions:

Each player starts out with one card, put the rest of the cards in the middle in two piles. Each player also takes turns drawing cards from either pile in the middle until someone has the same shape on another players card. If you draw a card that has two shapes on it, it's called a wild card. Even if the two symbols don't match, they have to face-off just like any card. Well when you face-off, you look at your rivals card, and say something that goes in the subject of what the card said. If you say a word that fits in the subject before the other player does, you take their card and put it in a another pile next to your pile. Keep your eyes peeled there might be another match! when the deck runs out count your treasure cards and the person with the most wins! if two players yell out a word at the same time, you draw another card from the two piles and see who gets that one first. If there is another tie, keep doing that until one player gets the card first.

This game is a fun game that our class has from our game closet. It is so fun, some people fight over who gets it first. It is also a fun game that you can play with your family, friends, or children. I would highly recommend this game for you, your family, and your friends.

Pros: Quick play, lots of fun, blue cards are easy, red is hard.

Cons: lots of arguments, cards rip or tear easily, the box can also rip or tear easily.

Not for the non-competitive types. Fun to ba had by all!

Got this for my sibling's family for Christmas, and they have loved it. It has quickly become a favorite that three generations (ages 9 - 67) have played together! I saw that there was a kids version, but went with the regular one as they are strong readers and I didn't want to inadvertently insult them by giving them a "kids" game.
The topics are broad enough that most people can think of something for each.
Gameplay is fast, so kids (or adults with short attention spans) don't get bored. Even if you're not shouting out an answer, you are part of the action by deciding who got their answer out first.
Officially you can play with up to 6 players, but honestly you can do more.

This is a great game and easy to learn. Although it is easy to learn, it is very challenging. I have played this for years with my family and friends. The last two years, I have been using it in my classroom for brain breaks. My students love it! It quickly grows as more and more students want to play. I would recommend this for classroom teachers. It is a bit pricey for educators, but it is worth every penny. Educators - this is a fun game that can work with 7th graders - High School. The students never tire from playing this game. Over and Over!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome filler word game

Easy to get, down, minimal set up, heaps of fun and laughs. The only problem is that if you play it often you start to memorize the cards as it only has 2 sets of cards. But for a filler for 16 aud that you can play with any one once in a while is perfect
