Offbrand but it works.
I tried to avoid offbrand products, but a friend of mine said this product works well and my old one is on as its last wheel so I got it and it works beautifully. In fact, it works with my Samsung TV! I didn’t know they could work with certain Samsung TVs. Pretty awesome. Glad I bought it.

When it arrived I was excited to try it out. After inserting the 2×AAA Batteries, it worked right out of the box, nice to have a remote like this to easily turn the system on and off without using the controller, but I know people want to know how this works with the Media apps like YouTube, Peacock, Etc. that you can install on your Xbox console, and the result is, it works well, great feel and fun to use. A good remote for the price. Although I secretly wished this was like the 8BitDo wireless game controllers and had a rechargeable battery inside, but always a minor gripe until the product gets an upgrade, and it does have a built-in low battery warning system and the AAA battery replacement won't be a chore as long as everyone keeps an eye for the signal to replace.

This is the 3rd media remote I've tried so far and it is by far the best one yet.
Pros:
-Sturdy Construction, it doesn't feel cheap or fragile.
-Great button feedback, they don't feel squishy and feel like real micro switches instead of cheap membrane switches
-Heavy, but not too heavy. It has enough weight to feel good in your hand without being too heavy for it's size
-Strong IR emitter, every click is registered every time

Cons:
-Button placement, I feel like it would be perfect if the D-Pad and A, B, X, Y buttons were swapped, most of the time people will be using the remote for selecting something to watch and putting it down, swapping those button sets would make it more comfortable to flip through netflix or youtube because of where your thumb will naturally want to set when you're holding it.

Some reviewers have said you have to point this directly at the TV. I don't have to do that with the Xbox Series X console. I can point it at the living room ceiling and it still controls the Xbox.

Some reviewers have said that it doesn't control the TV volume. That might be the way they have things set up. I have a my soundbar hooked up to my TV, and the remote volume keys work just fine with the soundbar turned on.

Some reviewers say that the media forward, backward, skip, etc. buttons do not work but they work for me just fine when I stream YouTube on the Xbox. So I'm not sure if they only work for certain apps and not others. I have not tried it with the Amazon Music app or Tube app yet, but I suspect it will work just fine.

All in all this is a great remote.

Pros:
1. Well made, nice pebble plastic feel to buttons and case. Definitely not cheap.
2. Responsive keys, with a good click feel.
3. Guide button (below the B key) , which can be programmed for various functions, not just the guide.
4. Buttons light up when you lift the remote, and fade out after a few seconds, which is just the right amount of time.
5. Saves batteries on XBox controller since you are not using it for streaming, just for games.
6. Battery cover slides off and on nicely, with a nice click when closed.

Cons:
1. The home (Xbox) button looks nice, but does not light up. But it's large and white so you can't miss it.
2. The home (Xbox) button feels more like rubber. Since it does not light up like the other keys, it would have been nice if the button was the same material. But it does stand out with the glossy raised surface.

Glad I chose this remote!

In comparison to a different remote I purchased, that was terrible, this thing would of been phenomenal… if I could see it in the dark.

Until I noticed it was difficult navigating the controller with the lights off, it was way better than a previous competitors controller I tried, until I used it with the lights down for a movie. The description says that it has motion sensor lighting (including the box it came in) but I have never seen any kind of illumination from this product. Not once. Without any backlighting, it is extremely difficult for me to use this remote, not only when the lights are down but also because the buttons them selves are completely flat and low, making it difficult for someone with tough hands and/or less than perfect eyesight to navigate. The only upside is the decent RI connection. However, even that sometimes frustrates due to response issues.

In conclusion, if the lighting worked, it might be a pretty decent remote. Without that, it’s practically just as bad as the other(s).

UPDATE: Backlighting works but drains the batteries more than it should. I put working batteries from my last remote that were barely used but it wasn't enough juice in them to light the remote up. Now, I like it a lot better and would give it another star, but I feel like it is going to run through batteries almost as bad as the gaming controllers. Also, its size is great but the shape can be a bit awkward holding.

It acts like one would if Microsoft had made a remote for the Xbox one. It works great. The backlighting when you move the remote is a cool feature. Helps you find it in the blanket. Only thing to keep in mind. It is IR. So it needs line of sight to the Xbox. 10/10 would buy one again. It requires no programming.

It took a while to get my hands on one, but the wait was worth it. The 8Bitdo Media Remote is the best option to use with Xbox consoles. I had the PDP remote, and I thought the buttons were very mushy and unresponsive. It was hard getting to where I wanted to go on my Xbox or getting through bluray menus. This remote, however, is leaps and bound better. The buttons are clicky and responsive. I'm able to get through Xbox/movie menus more quickly and accurately. The overall build of the remote is a lot better than the PDP offering. The shorter form factor is better to be able to reach certain buttons quickly. I really like that. I don't know how it'll do on batteries, with the motion-activated button backlights, but I'm not too concerned about it. If you use your Xbox to stream media or watch bluray movies and are in need of a remote, I'd strongly recommend this one.

So frustrating. Half the time it works great, half the time the backlight turns on as expected but the buttons do absolutely nothing for several minutes or the batteries are taken out and put back in. This is junk.

Es resistente. Funciona a la perfección. Ni muy grande ni muy pequeño. Solo una cosa botón del logotipo de xbox es como una estampa, no ilumina y se termina por caer. Pero solo es estampa el botón funciona bien.

I already have a universal remote that works with the Xbox but what’s missing is the Xbox button. This little thing is amazing; much smaller than the universal remote, turns on and off the tv/xbox, has volume controls, lights up when picked up or in use, has amazing dvd/blu ray controls, etc.

Very very very recommended especially at around 20-30 dollars

I needed smtg to turn on and off my xbox because I wanted to get rid of all the remotes I had. It also saves up battery life on my controllers! The remotes lights up for like 5 seconds which is really useful at night. Comes with batteries and when I got it, it automatically connected to my xbox without any problems! The only thing was I needed an IR extender because I don’t have a kinect but all in all great product!
