I would have given this 5 stars, but these routers had some issues dropping our xbox's off the network. I'm not sure if that problem has been solved (I haven't had that issue in a while now), but it was pretty frustrating for the time we had to deal with it. Other than that, these things ROCK! I'm getting more than the speeds I'm supposed to get from my internet provider. To help some people who might not be getting the speeds they want, here's some quick tips:You need several things to work right in order for your internet to function like you want it to:1) Your connection coming in from the internet provider must be consistent and reliable. I can certainly say that Ziply has been for us. We have the 2 Gbps plan and we're getting approximately 2.1 to 2.2 Gbps up & down.2) You need to have a router capable of distributing that speed over both WiFi and/or Ethernet cable. Routers have limits, so if you have a router that is limited to 500 Mbps speed, and you have a 1 Gbps connection, you are only going to get half the speed you are paying for. (1 Gbps / 2 = 500 Mbps). Also, you need to ensure your routers are placed in an area that gives it the best chance to reach all corners of the house. Mesh WiFi systems are the way to go right now. I currently use the TP-Link Deco AX7800's - which also prepares me for up to 10 Gbps speeds. If you have a Mesh WiFi system, try wiring the two routers instead of letting them connect through WiFi (this is called an Ethernet Backhaul), you will get better and faster coverage in your house.3) The Ethernet cables you use need to be rated at higher than the speeds you are trying to get. Up to Cat6a is backwards compatible, so if you go with Cat6a cable for everything right now, you should be fine. Cat7 is NOT backwards compatible and has a different connector. If you have Cat3 or Cat5, get rid of it (it's old tech). You shouldn't be using anything less than Cat6 or Cat6a (just get Cat6a, trust me.)Cat3 = up to 10 Mbps.Cat5 = up to 100 Mbps.Cat5e = up to 1Gbps @ 100 MHz bandwidth.Cat6 = up to 1Gbps @ 250 MHz bandwidth.Cat6a = up to 10Gbps @ 500 MHz bandwidth.4) Any switches in your network need to be rated at equal or higher than the total speed you are getting from your internet provider. If you are paying for Gigabit Fiber, you need to have switches that are Gigabit Switches. Try staying with the same brand as your router. If you have TP-Link routers, get TP-Link switches. Make sure you are looking at the MAX data transfer rates per second for the switches you use.5) If you ever have any issues with internet speeds, always check using a laptop at your first connection coming into your house. Make sure you are using a Cat6a cable to connect to your laptop. If you are getting good speeds there, it's your home network / setup that is causing the problem. If you are not getting the speeds you are paying for, either your laptop connector is rated at less than the speed you are asking for, the cable is limiting your speed, or the internet provider needs to check their hub/switches.
