Hasn’t been the first interruption. That means carefree operation of the router and any other computer related equipment. Some gear is just more sensitive to the noisy electrical power available now. If you haven’t got one of these, perhaps you need to consider it. I’ve been using this one for a good while. Zero failures and zero interruptions. That’s the whole point distilled. I have had an APC battery backup (the XS1500) for 14 years and 4 batteries later, so I am pretty sold on APC’s lasting for a while. I decided to get this one because I needed something to backup and protect a digital recorder for a security camera system. While this one isn’t as powerful as my venerable XS1500, I didn’t need anything more powerful than this to allow me time to shut down the recorder system until power is restored. Probably my biggest complaint with APC is the cost to replace their batteries, which usually are needed in the 3-to-5-year range, especially when they just slap a sticker over other brands and claim them as their own.

It is easy to get this setup, just plug in the hot wire and it is good to go. It has a good clear and easily readable display that shows the needed information and, in my case, when the battery is bad, since I don’t have this connected to a computer. The are plenty of plugs, both surge and battery backup protected. I basically have a monitor, switch and the security camera recorder connected, but I have space for plenty more if I need.

Overall, this is a solid battery backup as most APC’s are. Other than the expense of the replacement batteries, this is worth the cost.

Yes it feels pricey to spend $200-$300 just to plug your expensive computers and gaming consoles and medical devices to these, but I promise that these AVR units more than earn their price. How? Not only can they help you to save your work / game progress / or keep your CPAP running in the event of power outage, but they preserve the circuitry inside the hardware plugged into them.

The price of CyberPower was good but it turns out they don't do a periodic self-test like APC does, I was finding when I needed the backup the most the battery was kaput. With APC it works great and gives me a warning when the battery is getting too old.

Whenever there’s a power cut I would loose some of the things I work on. My laptop is pretty old but still gets the job done.

To get the battery replaced saw BestBuy fail at it for a couple of years until it was no longer under warranty.

This was the next best thing.

No need to move around as much these days. So spikes, cuts and other power glitches no longer bother me.
