Easy, do-it-yourself installation!

Step 1 - Remove your current seat.
Step 2 - Install the WASHLET base plate. The rubber grommets can be lubricated with water if needed. Tighten the screws completely.
Step 3 - Slide the WASHLET onto the base plate. Check the fit on your toilet and readjust the base plate as needed. A quick release button on the right-hand side allows for easy removal.
Step 4 - Connect the tee connector to your fill valve inlet. Connect the WASHLET hose and reconnect the water supply hose.

Fits Most North American Toilets

The WASHLET fits most toilets that feature a standard design.
Check the dimensions of your toilet to ensure proper fit and installation.
French curves may inhibit proper installation of the WASHLET. Check to ensure adequate space across the width of the tank.
Be sure that you are able to access the tank's fill valve inlet in order to complete the water connection. Extenders are available if space is limited.

Included and Required Items

Included Items - WASHLET, base plate with top-mount installation hardware, tee connector, and remote
120V GFCI outlet required. Rated 15 Amps. Surge protection recommended to protect your WASHLET.
The 3.9 foot three-prong power cord originates on the back left-hand side of the WASHLET when facing the toilet.
Meets or exceeds electrical and mechanical standards for the US and Canada. IAPMO EGS and cUPC listed.

Other Considerations

Some toilet designs, such as fully skirted bowls, restrict access to the fill valve inlet. Limited space can prevent completion of the water connection.
Check to ensure there is adequate space under your tank to install the tee connector and complete the water connection.
Extenders are available if your fill valve inlet is difficult to reach.
Additional fittings are needed for wall-hung toilet installations.

This is totally worth the money. Has great features and works very well. Easy to install and honestly, just a great feeling seat. Warm seat, warm water, dryer, self cleaning wand, everything works and feels great. Only issue is the that the remote is a bit big and therefore, a bit cumbersome to use as a remote and takes up space wherever you put it. But at least it is more versatile than the permanently attached versions.

Ok it isn’t cheap. It’s actually a bit absurdly expensive. The warranty process if one fails is almost terrible. However, these are highly rated for a reason. Even the New York Times loves the model. Anyway, that’s the bad. I wanted to get the ugly out of the way first 😁
The good=
Very well designed, the seat has a slight cant forward, which helps with sitting down and getting up. A big deal if you have serious back pain. The remote is designed well, and is super easy to figure out even without reading the manual (hey, I’m a stereotypical male🤪) The remote has a Great Wall mount bracket. Love it.
Has a nice seat heating feature that really comes in practical and handy on those cold fall/winter mornings when you gotta go and didn’t have time to pre-warm the bathroom…
Has a nice self-clean cycle. Say goodbye to stuck-on 💩 yuck!

Now for the PSA portion of my review 😄

I’m an American,and I have to say I think it’s just absolutely stupid that we have been so slow to mass-adopt these. They should be in every bathroom everywhere. They are that practical. It isn’t a “luxury” item like so many, including me, thought for so long. I’m not by any means saying you have to spend 400-500+ on a bidet. Very nice, functionally similar units can be had for under 100. You might not get a heated seat or warm water but believe me, even a non-electric bidet is vastly better than not having one at all. Trust me, you do not want to need one and not have it than the other way around. I just went through this nightmare myself recently.

Please excuse the semi-graphic depiction here, but if I can save one person from experiencing the misery I went through then it’s worth it. Here goes. Say you live alone, or with a S/O, roommate etc who isn’t home consistently. Suddenly you injure yourself where mobility is an issue. Imagine you can’t stretch enough to wipe without creating more pain. Now what? You can’t just jump in the shower. Same problem, re-injuring yourself becomes highly likely. So now you can either live like a toddler with a soiled rear end and all the associated humiliation and depression that goes with that OR…You can own a bidet. Yep, it’s that simple pretty much. I went through the worst aspects of not having one. Once I did it completely restored normal bathroom function. Knowing you have a clean rear end really shouldn’t be a luxury right? Once you get the hang of it(doesnt take long) you can sit, do your “duty” use the spray for anywhere from 30 sec to 2 min and you will be cleaner than you ever were with TP, and without any bending, contortions, TP waste etc. not to mention not re-injuring yourself. I will never stop recommending bidets to anyone who will listen. It’s time to get over the silly societal hang ups, the silly western taboo. Europeans, Arab and Asian countries among others have been using them in one form or another for decades. Primitive ones since the dawn of plumbing. Using TP excessively should be the taboo, not a bidet. Believe me, once you use one you will become the next convert. They are finally beginning to catch on rapidly in the USA and I’m glad to see it. I wish I had discovered them many years ago.

This was way easier to install than I expected (I did it myself), although the instructions made it seem like it'd be more challenging. This is our second purchase, first for ourselves, then for my father as a gift. We've had ours for 2 years now, no issues in performance. My husband and I like the customizability with both presets you can change and the remote to make selections. Maybe TMI, but this was a wonderful thing to have after coming home from the hospital after having our first baby. Makes gentle cleaning down there much easier when you're tired than always filling that little squirt bottle they give you. We'd never go back to not having the bidet feature but my mom said she's get it for the heated seat feature alone (which is wonderful and I never want to sit on a cold seat in winter again).

Have several Toto bidet's already and love them. Thought about trying other brands but studying their iffy reviews decided to stick with the Toto C5. Can't beat Toto for quality and features.
Installation on my other Toto's was very simple and only took a few minutes but this one turned out to be a bit of a problem. The rubber inserts for attaching the mount plate to the toilet bowl are way too large to push into the bowl mounting holes. Tried lubricating, twisting, turning, praying and cursing but they just wouldn't so into the holes on my American Standard round bowl. Rather than giving up I decided to try partially threading the bolts into the rubber insert then using a hammer (and praying) to force the rubber insert into the holes. It took quite a bit of force to finally get them fully into the bowl holes. I never had this problem before on any of my Toto bidets and don't know if the inserts are now larger than prior models of the American Standard bowl just has smaller holes but fortunately made it through the install without cracking or breaking the bowl.
Also I am a little disappointed in the remote control. My other Toto's came with a high quality metal cased remote and this one came with a larger, cheaper looking plastic remote. A little disappointed.
Once installed the bidet fits perfectly, operation is excellent.
Should also mention that the seat lid (and seat) doesn't go far enough back when raised, doesn't even reach vertical for no apparent reason and actually appears to lean forward. Not bad enough to touch your back when seated but can't lean back at all. No apparent reason for this, plenty of open space between lid and toilet tank.

Didn't know someone could be so in love with a toilet fixture. But here we go. After using a similar model in our hotel while we were vacationing in London, we decided to buy and install this when remodeling our master bathroom. I like that you can buy the "base" Toto toilet model and then decide whether to "add" this bidet seat after the fact (which was our plan). Ultimately, we ended up installing the bidet straightaway. It is completely seamless. Given that we have the proper model "base toilet", the cord and stuff tucks away neatly so they are not visible. Our contractor installed it, and said it was very simple. Works well.

I see no advantage to buying the fully-integrated toilet/bidet combination because it is so much more expensive than simply buying this seat with the base Toto toilet. I also would not spend the money on Toto's "more expensive" version of this bidet seat because the remote on the more expensive version looks like a nightmare. This remote is super intuitive. No problems. Love it.

I'm dealing with an elderly dementia patient and this product make the process so much easier. It's not perfect, but it eliminates a lot of the manual effort and mess.

The installation was relatively painless and it all went well the first time, but the centering instructions could be better.

The quality of the product is a little cheap for the price; I can see the cheap plastic breaking over time. The outer seat does not appear to open as wide as it should, I can see a heavy person leaning back against this and breaking it. The lid seems to line up with the hinge, so I assume it's installed properly.

The remote is well thought out and well made, although I'd like to see an auto routine that runs through a series of preprogrammed steps. Better still a phone app with a camera built into the washing tube, so you can see what you're doing. Ideally, a phone app with AI built in, so Skynet can do a proper job of cleaning your business. I'm only partially kidding about this, just think of the money you could make off the Geeks.

Overall I'm happy with the design and build quality of the unit, and remote, other than the chinsy outer cover. In my case, it also covers a real need, and I might enjoy a heat Tushy as well.

We have an older Toto Washlet that is still working well. We bought a Brondell for downstairs and it had to be repaired quite a few times. It finally can't be repaired any more so is being replaced with a Toto.
Toto is just better quality and the price point is pretty much the same for the same features.

The Toto is more than I realized I wanted! At first the operating instructions seemed overwhelming. But once I had tried out the options, I soon knew which ones I needed and the rest was easy! This is the best way to feel clean. The warm toilet seat is something I never knew I would enjoy. It is wonderful, although we will definitely turn it off in the warmer months. I really like that I can shut off options that I do not feel I need, and I also like that there is an Auto Energy Saver option. We hired someone to install the Toto. The instructions were clear but he had some difficulty installing it because we have a skirted toilet. This made it much more difficult for him. If you are getting a new toilet, you might consider not getting a skirted toilet.

I'm a bit choked that the "round" version of this is double the price of the elongated shape, but it is an excellent product. The heated seat is a must-have feature! I am a bit wary of the plastic cracking, but the Toto brand feels MUCH more sturdy than the Brondell we tried previously (which was broken from the start and their customer service took three weeks to even get back to us... so we returned it and never went back). I am trusting the Toto reputation and thus far it feels earned!
