I’ve had this for 6 months and I would say it’s pretty decent, it gets the job done. It looks nice in a steel bathroom as it matches the sink. The rubber piece on the inside is nice as it doesn’t scratch the sink and doesn’t easily dislodge. My only downfall with this is that sometimes the center piece of the strainer gets stuck on closed, and after washes dishes I’ll come back to a clogged sink and realize that the water never went down because it locked itself on closed again.

I had a damaged sink replaced with a new sink. I had the old stopper, the new stopper that came with the sink, and a general replacement stopper I had purchased from a store for the former sink. I don't know why, but none of them would work properly on the new sink. One broke apart, and two leaked constantly - one slowly and one quickly. They never worked well - even when new.

Based on overhearing someone talk about this stopper while in the audience of a concert before the event started, I came to Amazon to find it and purchase it. The brand stuck out at me because my mom has arthritis, and so many of her favorite utensils and kitchen gadgets are made by this brand.

I've had the stopper only two days, but I've had a lot of dishes to wash after a big event. And, it truly is sometimes overwhelming how wonderful the small things can be... because I am so so so happy about this stopper!!! It is designed so that when you turn the knob to block the drain, the rubber stopper underneath enlarges so it will fit kitchen sink drains in slightly different sizes. I no longer have to worry about finding the one particular stopper when this one seems to be universal.

I love that the knob is easy to turn to open and close the drain, and the strainer part of the plug works wonderfully. I filled a sink 10 hours ago to soak some dishes with dried-on food. The day got busy, so I haven't been able to deal with them yet. But, the water level has remained at the same height. Incredible! When I've drained the sink after many other batches of dishes yesterday, I carried the stopper to the sink... and with one tap on the bin, the strainer portion emptied completely. It is working wonderfully, and it is everything I was looking for to solve these problems for my sink.

Love this product. Upon opening and handling you can tell this isn't some cheap drain stopper. It is quality stainless steel and rubber. Also, it is extremely easy to clean. When I was using it I would see some grime build up on the bottom inside of the stopper. However, the whole stopper can be easily taken apart for cleaning and just as easily reassembled. Maybe clog is a bad word to use, but the amount of food that it can hold before water flow becomes restricted is pretty small from my experience. For me, this is a good thing because it forces me to clean it out regularly and prevents smells and insects from getting to it. One small complaint is that the rotating mechanism that closes and opens the water flow from the stopper is a bit finicky. It works for the most part, however, I have noticed that sometimes it will go down on its own and cut off water flow. It doesn't lock into an open or closed position. If there are some dishes sitting on top of it, those dishes can inadvertently trigger the mechanism to close the water flow. It's not the biggest deal but it is something to note.

I use this in the kitchen as it has the drain stop with the strainer feature. It does get a good seal on the bottom of the sink and I have not had water leak unless a heavy pot/pan or a very angled dish push right into it to dislodge it and that has happened very rarely as it sits below the bottom of the sink when closed. The rubber food catcher does catch large and small pieces of food products while allowing the water to drain when you are done with the dishes and you can pop it out to tap it out over the trash, but not all small pieces come off, even when it's popped out in reverse and I need to rinse the rest of the pieces off.
Sometimes twisting it closed or open can be a little hard and I have been using it in my sink for two months. If you can't fully do the rotation one handed all at once then it twists back to the position it was in. This can be a little annoying if you are trying to drain a sink that still has some dishes in it and you need to run new water.
I have also found that just because there is a new lip at the bottom of the sink with this piece in it and the rubber or silicone goes beyond the average hole in the sink . . .some water pools at the bottom of the sink and does not drain. A few millimeters of water at the bottom.
Best Pro - It really seals the water in the sink and it does not leak like so many other sink inserts.

I purchased this Jun 27, 2021. Only lasted 2.5 years. The thin flange around the outside of this drainer/stopper has worn down so that it will not stop water from draining anymore.
I loved it when I first got it. It worked great and I loved the way it came apart for cleaning. However, after a while it got scuzzier and scuzzier to clean. I can't just throw it in the dishwasher because I don't have a dishwasher.
I don't remember, is this supposed to be silicone? The constant use of this item gets the stopper a nasty film/buildup, and mold? After a while of use, I have to take an old toothbrush and baking soda/vinegar combination to scrub it as clean as I possibly can but never deems to get clean enough. Cleaning a sink stopper shouldn't be a "chore".
Stainless steel sink stopper/strainers are much easier to clean, and are cheap, but they don't always fit right and let water drain.
OXO needs to perfect this item to make it the quality product that I'm used to from them. I love my OXO products; this one just doesn't last long enough for the price.

This thing is awesome. I had my doubts that it would actually plug the sink, but it sure does.

Hint: Turn the little silicone handle allll the way to the left until you feel a soft “click” to ensure it remains open. Then do the same all the way to the right to close it/plug up the sink.

It also catches more food bits than the standard drain covers/strainers. It’s easy to clean.

10/10 highly recommend.

Now the only question is, I have 2 sinks and only one of these…why is that?? ::add to cart::

Especially if you have an older sink (works great in new sinks too) that has a sketchy looking drain (looking at you 35 yr old garbage disposal). These are durable, easy to clean and do a better job as both a stopper (slight twist of the toggle), and as a drain strain that catches EVERYTHING and is super easy to clean. The heavy duty rubber material also makes it so that nothing that hits it chips or breaks. I want a smaller one for the bathtub. I should go shopping for it now. Get yours.
