I wore different compression socks on same trip - comparison.
Compression Socks comparison: Physix Gear Sport vs. SB Socks. On my legs for 27 hours, including a 17-hour airplane ride from San Francisco to Singapore. Here are my thoughts, and which pair I used for the (even longer) trip home to Portland. As the pics show, Physix was a bit longer and a bit slimmer. My pant inseam length is 34,” and my calves are slender. Both fit fine. The biggest difference was the fabric / feel. Physix felt more “synthy” if that is a word. SB thicker in the leg, plus thicker and softer in the foot. SB padded in the foot, a bit. Physix was the same fabric/ feel from top to toe.I wore Physix on my left foot and SB on my right foot. SB is probably a warmer sock, although I did not notice a difference on the airplane with a blanket over me.When I finally took off the socks, 27 hours after putting them on, I did not notice any difference in the amount of swelling in my feet. Both were a bit puffy, equally so, to my eyes.I wore the SB socks home because they felt better against my skin. More comfortable.

The socks are just what I needed, a compression sock with a little bit of style. I had trouble finding good compression socks in the stores near me and, if I could, they were only black or white. As I was using them with dress pants, I wanted more options. The compression fit is good and yet is comfortable throughout the day. I wish there were more typical color choices, such as a brown, but the basic black and blue work well and the argyle choices provide some variety.

I can't speak to their durability yet, but I received these socks and wore them for a full day, and so far I'm very pleased. The color is vibrant, quality seems very good, and they're comfortable without cutting in below the knee or otherwise pinching or bunching. They're not unreasonably difficult to get on (but they're compression socks, so yeah, they don't slide on like regular socks). They give really good, hearty support as I recover from surgery. I'm back online to look for more.

The doctor told me to get the 20-30 rated compression socks instead of the 8-15 I had been wearing. The lower rated Dickies were comfortable and I was unsure how the higher compression socks would feel. I ordered a few different brands on Amazon and found that the lower priced socks ( around $4-5 per pair) simply were too small no matter what size they claimed to be. The SOX compression are extremely comfortable and relatively easy to get on. They fit snugly and are comfortable. I have not used them while exercising but imagine that they will be ok. I am very happy with the product.

SB SOX (20-30mmHg): The best I've tried thus far (and I've tried a lot of compression socks). Suffered from multiple DVT's in the left leg due to several veins collapsing during one of the surgeries. They installed some 6+ FT of stents on the veinous side to save the leg (one of the FDA studies out there). Anyway, the end result is that I now get to wear compression stockings from now on. These are simply the best compression stockings that I've found so far (including the medical grade ones you need an Rx for - that simply cost 4-times as much, but have same rating and do the same thing). The band at the top does not cut, they provide good/solid compression from the ankle up, and they make your legs feel great. I've tried some brands that I've simply had to throw away after wearing them once (they were that bad or the band at the top was simply not worth it). For walking/exercise, the SB-SOX also feel great and help during and after the walk (can now do 5-8K's). Or, if you are on your feet all day, these socks will make you feel better when you get to the end of the day (at least your legs will feel better). For the athletes, I can see these socks helping runners at any distance. The vendor is terrific to deal with and they are always willing to help (vendor provides some nice discounts for buying more than one - and you'll want to buy more than one so that you don't have to wash them every night). The only other one that I'd recommend is made by "Run Forever Sports" (also a 20-30mmHg compression) - they feel just as good. The SB-SOX's are a little cheaper out the gate and if you are buying more than 1-pair, they give you a 5% discount for each added pair (up to 30% off for 6-pair). For the money, the SB-SOX's are my go-to brand and I suspect I'll eventually be wearing this brand exclusively (once I've weeded out or worn out the sub-par brands that I've tried.........or once I've worn them enough that I can justify throwing them out; as they are expensive and I wanted to try and get some use out of the other brands that I still have). To anyone out there that wants to simply feel better at the end of a race or at the end of the day - give this brand a try. To anyone out there that needs to wear them for a medical condition (such as DVT's or the pain caused by them), you also will not be disappointed (hang in there and I hope you get some relief).

Disclaimer: I paid for each pair of SB-Sox's that I own out of my own pocket and rec'd nothing for free (also got nothing for the time I spent to write this review). At times, I do wonder if the review is unbiased or not and I also wonder if the review can truly be unbiased if the product was given to them for free (I suppose it can be done - but you do still wonder). Anyway, we've all seen reviews where a product was given to a person for free or in exchange for an 'honest-review'. I wanted to put in the same sort of disclaimer - just stating that I paid for them outright. I do try to read reviews when I'm looking to make a purchase and I do appreciate when an honest review is available. While I don't write many reviews, I wanted to at least provide the same courtesy to others that I look for. So, I'll try to find time when a product is working for me and at least provide some feedback - hence this (long-winded) review.

Best regards.

I work in the ER for 12 hour shifts and have tried Bombas and Conrad compression socks. They are ok but felt not worth the price tag. These were over $10 cheaper and feel amazing. They are not too thin and have great toe and heel padding. The compression is very firm which I was so happy about! I wear a size 9 shoe and got the small. I will definitely be buying more. The small feels great but I may try the medium just to compare.

I've been wearing some form of compression hose for approximately 15 years. The impetus was heaviness and tiredness experienced while officiating women's lacrosse, and volleyball.; then standing during practices and performances playing saxophone. As a practicing physician, I was also on my feet most of the day. Previous to finding SB socks, the products from other companies were either not compressive enough, slid down my leg, were too tight and uncomfortable at the upper edge, or difficult to apply. Another company constructed the sock for either the right or the left leg. and I would forget to check the label. SB has covered all the bases with an easily appliable, well constructed compressive sock which is not too heavy ( I wear mine on the pickleball court in all type of weather, both indoors and outdoors). I follow the care instructions and wash them in cold water, then lie them on a towel to dry. This keeps them in almost new condition, minimizing the wear and tear of the dryer. I keep them on for an hour or so after my activities, elevating legs on a pillow. The bottom line is no more night crams, increased endurance, and a comfort level not reached with any other compression sock. Hope this helps your decision making

I have edema in my legs and my doctor told me to wear compression stockings. I have been trying to find the right ones for me. Like other brands, the size chart on this one doesn't seem to apply to me. My shoe size (women's) is an 8, so that would be "small." But my calf circumference is over 18" so that would be L or XL. I got XL. They are a bit too long. If they came in something like a petite size, maybe 1 inch shorter, that would be just right. They are digging in behind my knee because there is too much material. Other than that, they seem like a good quality stocking. The material is comfortable.

First off---very speedy delivery(thank you!). Appears just as advertised. Initially hesitant(when ordering),as my shoe size and calf size fell between 2 different sizes. GO WITH YOUR CALF SIZE. Glad I did. Fits perfectly. So comfortable, the sole of the socks has some extra padding of sorts woven (I'm not a cloth expert)into it. Like an extra cushy walk. Breathable...purchased in summertime,my skin feels no sweat.
Having raved about this, realistically I have yet to see the durability in its wearing time/washing and longevity.
So far,I'm happy! If after a month it's all good, gonna order more and for family as well.
