I really wasn't sure how this was going to be. I love microwave popcorn. The ease of it, the flavor, all of it. So when this came, I had to go and get regular popcorn! I used Orville Redenbacher popcorn that just comes in the plastic bottle, and no oil or anything. I filled the middle section like it says in the directions and threw it in the microwave. It is a bit of a trick to get the lid on, but it only took a few seconds to figure it out. Filling the center section all the way caused the lid to pop up because it made so much popcorn! So the next time I put slightly fewer kernels in. There weren't very many unpopped kernels at the bottom.

It's really good! I ate the first bowl absolutely dead plain. The next one I did add a little butter (I use a stainless bowl to which I add a little butter and set on the stove to melt. Then I pour the popped corn in and toss.). I bought a purple popcorn to try next.

The popcorn comes out really crispy (after the lid comes off and it's exposed for a few seconds), and I can safely say that I won't be buying much, if any microwave popcorn anymore!

Then I just popped (HA!) the whole thing in the dishwasher. It would be very easy to wash out. Then it collapses and it easy to store.

I am very very pleased with this purchase, and will be buying more (with that Orville Redenbacher popcorn!) as gifts!

I first bought the smaller "personal" size for afternoon snack break. Makes a perfect 4 cup portion for one person. Easy to clean - I use warm soapy water even though it is dishwasher safe.

Others have mentioned that the bowl is hot to handle straight out of the microwave, so I discovered that the bowl fits into the center of the lid making it easier to handle.

The popcorn comes out perfectly cooked, with a minimal amount of unpopped kernels. Cooked without needing oil, this can be as healthy as air popped.

I liked this product so much that I ordered another one in the larger "original" size for times when I want to make a larger batch. For sharing.

I don't know who thought of making a highly flexible soft-sided, soft lid popcorn popper was a good idea. Whoever it was should be forced to use this thing every day. It is ridiculous. It is made of this extremely flexible/rubbery material. You must put oil in it to cook the popcorn kernels. The oil is very difficult to clean out after use since it clings to the silicone like a long-lost lover.

The lid is flexible, the bowl is flexible so when you try to put the lid on, it really doesn't work. After a few attempts you can get it to at least sit in place - kind of.

Careful once the cooking is done! Don't you dare pick the thing up without welder's gloves on. This thing is HOT and will send steam shooting out the top potentially scorching you. Also, I still have yet to figure out how to not have a bunch of un-popped kernels in the bowl or burned popcorn. I have tried a variety of time and power settings.

I can't believe the price for this is now $20. I wouldn't pay $5 for this thing. It is a joke.

We like this bowl but it’s not the best. Firstly, it gets very hot and you need oven mitts or a towel to get it out of the microwave. You can’t go straight to eating unless you put a towel on your lap. Also, it’s too small to make popcorn for two people, so we end up dumping it on another bowl so we can make more. Plus, if you follow the directions with the appropriate amount of kernels, it pops the bowl so full that you can’t drizzle it with butter or oil and put the lid back on to shake it around, it just sits there bec it’s to full. We wanted a bowl with a lid specifically so we didn’t have to transfer to another bowl and stir the toppings around, which inevitably ends up with popcorn spilling out all over the counter. And then there’s two dirty bowls. Overall, it’s a convenient way to make popcorn and it will leave just about a dozen kernels unpopped at the bottom of the bowl. But I might try a different brand next time. I like that it goes in the dishwasher and collapses for storage.
