Love it! Have only used it once but know it’s going to be so useful for lots of things. I love the wide pan base. It’s light in weight. The side handles and lid handle do not get hot. Have always loved the design of this Danish design classic.
Will look for a wooden handled pan now, in yellow or maybe green!

The best pot I’ve used (& I’ve gone through many as a home cook!) and the only one I keep using. 10/10 would have loved being gifted this when I moved into my first apartment!

Either quality control or quality of this product is abysmal. Received the first pot with a large chip out of the enamel on the handle, which appeared to be touched up with nail polish, and very dirty - possibly a previous floor display piece? The replacement had a dime-sized chip out of the enamel on the interior bottom. Not taking a third chance. Don't waste your money!

Bought it when I read Michael Pollan's book, Cooked. He was right. It needs a little extra care with its enamel surface but it's worth it. Bought the red on. Goes from stove to table as a serving dish.

The one I received yesterday was damaged and evidently used. The lid handle had two sizable areas where the red enamel was chipped off to the black metal, as well as fingerprint smears and water spots on the surface. The listing claimed it was new. The seller was P COAST PARTNERS, so if you buy this pot, try to buy it from a different seller. I'm sending it back.

Aside from that, it is a good-looking casserole. It seems that the lid would be hard to remove with a potholder (and you would need to use a potholder) because it is so low to the surface of the lid. Maybe you could use a fork or a chopstick to lift the lid. I have not had a chance to use it, so I can't really comment on how nice it is to cook in or clean up, but I believe the other reviews on here from people who love it and whose mothers loved it, too.

I may reorder, but I would go with the 6-quart size instead and I would be sure the seller is NOT P COAST PARTNERS.

Item is not as heavy as I thought it would be

I had never heard of cast STEEL, only cast iron, which is so very heavy (wonderful, but HEAVY). ALL enameling, in the US, must be sent to China, so your cookware, 'crockpots', etc are not done in the US, but are done in China, and that usually will have amounts of lead in it. Therefore, in order to be lead-free, you'll need to seek out European brands such as Le Creseut, Staub, Dansk, etc.
This pot is stunningly beautiful and I enjoy seeing it grace my stovetop with such elegance but also in how wonderfully it cooks, and how easy it is to clean.
If I had anything to say as to why I've given it 4 stars, at this early time, instead of five, it would be because it has a small flaw inside - a bubble, or chip (?), and also because the bottom of the pot is so sleek and smooth that it slides all over the burner! It won't stay in place while you stir or scoop out your food. They need to make the usual ridge on the bottom, or perhaps make the bottom with grooves in it. It is really annoying and sometimes risky for being burned. That isDEFINETYL something they need to improve on.
Otherwise, where are you going to get anything close to being in the ballpark as a Le Creuseut or Staub for the (half price) that I got mine for?
**UPDATE TO MY REVIEW**
I have owned this LESS than ONE MONTH, and it has chipped now in three places inside. That is unaccdptable at any price. I absolutely baby this thing so it has had the most delicate of care. Now, how to return since everything is closed??? It's a shame. It has everything going for it..except some design and quality, apparently.

It doesn't have the mass of enamelled cast iron. This is great because it is lighter, but it also leave hot spots where the pan doesn't cook evenly. I didn't think it would matter for stew, but it did
