I have been a Simple Human fan for over 12+ years now. Following a break up in 2008, I had to go out and buy all new kitchen items and I discovered the world of Simple Human trash cans and the accompanying bags. The trash cans are designed so smartly and cleverly I don't know how other manufacturers aren't able to follow suit. The vents, built into the liners of the cans, are so genius! I used to have to cut a small air hole in my old bags so they would fit and lay flat when being installed. I LOVE this invention. Plus, the soft closure of the lid and the solid construction of not only the can but of the bags themselves is UNPARALLELED. I have tried lesser quality (cheaper) bags and they tear...the draw strings rip out... the bags fall apart and then there is the smell some of them try to put in the bags... disgusting. The smell of trash plus the fake floral scent of the bag is enough to make one ill. Yes, I admit, $120 may be a lot to spend for a trash can. But, I have NEVER had to replace one. They last forever and at 10+ years, that's less than $10 a year, or less than $1 a month. The lids open and close (silently) without fail. The metal exterior is easy to clean and does not scratch. The bags are the PERFECT size and the liner cans are vented and work properly. I know it may be odd to write a rave review about a trash can and bag system, but I love when things work right! We all throw things away every day especially when we cook or clean, so why shouldn't these tools of life work for us? I guarantee, this trash system will change the way you think about trash and throwing the trash away has always been a stress-free experience and without worry since I switched to Simpe Human. No tears, no rips, no drips, no leaks nor spills to worry about because these bags hold their weight and then some! Remember that each can has a size or letter size for the can. Make sure you get the right size. The size is typically indicated just inside the can. I have the "J" size or style and it's PERFECT for my kitchen. I also have a recycle bin next to it which is handy to keep the trash can for just that, trash!
