Fantastic projector mount!
5 out of 5 stars
Fantastic projector mount!
This is a fantastic product! I recently upgraded my projector from a 14 lb Panasonic PT-AX100U to a 19 lb Panasonic PT-AE8000U and I just didn't trust my previous mount, which was rated to 25 lbs. So I picked this one up based on the positive reviews and that it was rated to 50 lbs, and I could not be more pleased. This thing is rock solid. The 50 lb rating is conservative and it feels like it could easily support twice that (not recommending that, just saying how solid it is). There are two major components to it, one that attaches to the ceiling and the other that attaches to the projector with adjustable arms. Once these two components are installed, the part on the projector just slides into place on the ceiling portion, and the weight is 100% supported even before tightening the set screw or attaching the safety screw. Then once secured, it is super easy to adjust to align to the screen. There is one knob to adjust the up/down pitch, and another to adjust the left/right roll. The only thing that is not adjustable with a knob is the yaw, so that must be done by rotating the mount on the ceiling by loosening the screws a bit and turning it slightly. This task is made easier by the fact that the screws also have hex heads, so I was able to do this with a wrench with the projector in place. Of course if you are careful to get everything square in the first place, not much tweaking is needed in that direction. In any case, I had no problems getting the image perfectly aligned to the screen (also thanks to the great lens shift feature of the PT-AE8000U, which is an awesome projector that I'll write up later). It is much more solid compared to my previous mount which would lose alignment just by plugging/unplugging a cable or cleaning the lens.Another reviewer said that "it's just projector mount, and it works, so not much to say". Well, if you've ever used a cheap mount and struggled to get it aligned and keep it aligned, then you will definitely appreciate the solid design and build quality of this unit. There really IS a big difference between this and the lesser quality units. Highly recommended!

As a first time user of this mount, I was glad I choose this one because it was super easy to install and very sturdy. Really, it lived up to its name as a sturdy, versatile mount able to handle large and heavy projectors.

Installation is easy with the universal mounting system. This full-motion mount is rated to support heavy projectors, making it a great fit for small to medium, as well as larger venues and educational facilities too.

Despite the heavy-duty build, this mount was easy to adjust and stayed put thanks to joints and adjustments, which provide a wide range to finesse the positioning.

In conclusion, this Peerless mount worked great for my needs and I was glad I bought this brand and model. You can feel at ease entrusting your expensive AV gear to this mount.

I'm going to update this review latter, as I have a lot if information to convey. I wanted to get a preliminary review up to help people.

Assembly
This mount is high quality. The spider arms fit my HD 141x nicely without sticking out the sides. They fasten down with included Allen wrench. Included are screws to work with many projectors. M3,M4, etc. I will add a picture of the provided screws, which come labeled. The 141x uses M4s. Remove one of the spider arms as you only need 3. Remember the arms slide and turn 320 degrees. I will upload a pic latter of how I set mine up.

I joist mounted the unit. The base mounts with two 2-1/2inch #14 coarse screws provided. You will need a 5/32 drill bit to drill the pilot holes. The screws have a Phillips center but I used a socket fit over the screw head itself. The 2 holes are around 4 inches apart, I'll measure when I take the unit down for pictures. The unit has four holes but 2 screws. This allows it to attach to joist going North to South or West to East. The projector slides into the unit but the base can be installed in reverse allowing projector to slide in from the front or the rear. This does not affect pitch or roll function as both are bi-directional. The holes on the unit for the screws are crescent shaped, allowing for a decent degree of error forgiveness. The base can swivel 360 before you lock it down, giving a bit more forgiveness if screws don't line up perfect.

The hd141x mounts over the lens so the lens not being center of projector is a non issue. Note that inputs come off the side of that projector.

This mount lets you lock in your position and saves a ton of time setting up. It's nice being able to put on a lens cap without the projector sliding all over. The "play" in the connections is pretty small for a projector mount.

Bottom line...best projector mount I've ever used. Think I'll buy another one for the HD20.

This is my second one of these I've installed in two rooms. Solid easy mounting via a standard 1.5" NPT threaded down rod and the fact the projector bracket has a quick release makes it super easy to install and then hang the projector. The mounting spider is quick to adjust and locks down tight.

Tip One: Make sure you don't tighten the set screw on the bracket to the down rod until you get the projector up. The mount has adjustments for pitch and roll, but the left/right alignment happens by rotating the projector on the down rod. So waiting to lock down the set screw until you get the projector up will make it a little easier.

Tip Two: Don't screw the down rod completely into the bracket, leave a few threads showing. If you screw it in all the way, the rod will hit the roll adjuster and limit the roll adjustment. Leave a few threads showing and you'll have plenty of support without hitting the adjuster.

Once the bracket is mounted it takes just a minute to pick up the projector and slide it in then tighten the locking screw. Swing the projector left and right to get it lined up then lock the set screw for the down rod. Use the pitch and toll adjustment knobs to make the final adjustments and you're done in 10 minutes including the time to do keystone, etc with the projector menus.

Once aligned, I've not noticed any slipping or creep in the mechanical adjustments and have not had to readjust in a couple of years of having them. Though I will say I'm using Sony projectors that are in the 30 lb range, so heavier projectors may be a different experience.

I've also not seen vibrations being passed to the projector from the audio or other, though obviously your specific placement and room will have a lot to do with that.

Not good for a Sony XW6000. I was tweaking the position and all of a sudden the vertical adjustment wheel/screw failed (scared the crap out of me :( ) and now the projector is pointing at the ceiling. The projector weighs 31 which is under the 50 lb rating of this mount. Even when it was working it was a bit wobbly. I would return it but unfortunately it is past the return window.

I had the QualGear Pro-AV QG-KIT-CA-3IN-B on the old projector and moved it when I got the XW6000, going to order one and hope it gets here before my projector crashed to the floor. The QualGear is rock solid and good for 70lbs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing mount
Reviewed in Canada on October 20, 2015
This amount has served me very well. It does everything it advertised. There is only occasionally an infantile amount of movement on the screen when people are walking or running above it, and I'm not sure this could be avoided. I only need to readjust say every 4 or 5 months by half an inch or less.

Love this mount.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my first projector mount and I'm glad I bought it
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 23, 2015
This is my first projector mount and I'm glad I bought it. It is very solid and very well crafted, it looks very high tech. The projector can be installed by a single person because the mount comes in 2 pieces, one you fix on the ceiling and another one that is fixed on the projector. The projector piece slides into the ceiling piece and you're done. The mount lets you adjust the projector position on all 3 axes.
I'm using it a Sony VPL-HW40ES projector and it fits perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sencillo, práctico y robusto

Great mount!

Super adjustable. I was disappointed that it wasn't more clear about needing to purchase an additional adapter to extend the drop down distance of the projector, but in the end, we were able to get away with out the extension.
