I was so on the fence about buying this pillow because the reviews seem so mixed.
First of all, I think a lot of the reviews are due to user error. This pillow is supposed to expand for 24-48 hours before use. I waited the full 48 hours and it was great. When I checked on it at the 24 hour mark, it was definitely firmer than the 48 hour mark. I know it’s hard not to use the pillow you’ve just bought because it’s exciting! But really, it’s for the best to follow the instructions and let it expand for the full amount of time.
Secondly, I see a lot of complaints that it’s “not cooling”. News flash! No pillow can stay cold *all the time*! That technology does not exist and is currently impossible! It has holes for ventilation, your body gives off heat that transfers to the pillow.
Thirdly, the pillow does vary in firmness based on temperature. If it’s warm it’s gonna be a bit softer, if it’s cold it’s gonna be a bit firmer.
The reviews are very mixed with people saying “my head sinks down all the way, there’s nothing to it!” and “It’s so firm like a brick! My head doesn’t sink at all!” this confused the crap out of me before buying. I think all of the above factors are the reason for variation in the reviews.
I’ll try to give my most unbiased perspective on it. It is firm, I would not call it a brick though. My head sinks about halfway into it. It provides support, but isn’t stiff. It’s not super soft, it does take a minute to sink into. It holds your head in place. I am a side and stomach sleeper and I find it comfortable. I cannot speak for back sleepers. It is very lightweight, but thick, wide, and takes up a decent amount of space. The cover is soft, but you should still put a pillowcase over it. If you don’t like a pillow on the firmer side, you probably won’t like this pillow. If you’re looking for something super soft and squishy, this pillow is not for you. If you are looking for a firm memory foam pillow that keeps you in place, has good neck support, and keeps it’s shape. This pillow is for you.
Overall, I like it! I’ve been sleeping on it for a couple weeks and I think it has helped my neck a bit. I’ve been sleeping very soundly and I have no issues. It’s a great price for the quality if it’s what you’re looking for, go for it!

My new favorite pillow Updated!!
If your looking for a superb side sleeper pillow look no further, this is the type of pillow for you.At 23 one thing nobody ever told me was how much a pillow could effect your sleep. All my life I've slept on soft cotton or down pillows because that's what my family has always used. I've gone from bed to bed thinking that that would help my back and neck pain, and don't get me wrong, they did partially; Except nothing has ever made me have as good of a sleep or wake up with zero back/neck pain like this pillow.This pillow has single handedly turned me into a foam pillow person and I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to regular pillows.For people asking about the feel of this pillow, it IS firmer than a normal pillow, however I don't think I'd consider it a hard pillow. Because it's foam it contorts to hold your head while still giving enough support to help make sure your spine is aligned down your back. I'd put it at a 6/10 on the firmness scale.I have it in a bamboo pillowcase and it honestly feels heavenly to point where I can't wait to sleep tonight.I will update this review in a few months to talk about how this pillow has held up over time!UPDATE!!As it's been a few months I decided it was time for an update! I have taken down a star, and while I do still consider this my favorite side sleeper pillow I will say the longer you sleep on it the softer it gets(rejoice side sleepers who prefer softer foam!!). Personally I much preferred it's more solid foam quality from when I first got it and the softer it gets the quicker my head sinks down uncomfortably into the pillow. It no longer contorts as well and causes my head to sink in to where some morning my neck is somewhat stiff when I wake up. Also, want to switch up and sleep on your back? Be ready for the most god awful headache in the morning, want to sleep on you stomach? Get ready for crick in the neck although I did like the way it was firm enough that I was not basically suffocating my self in my pillow overnight.This foam pillow is very much in the side sleeper category and as such this is NOT a versatile pillow. Beware combo sleepers. Other than that though this pillow is still heaven for I still have not had to deal with back aches since buying it. I'd still rate it fairly high for people who only side sleep.
