Terro Outdoor Bait Awesome for Tiny Red Fire Ants in Trees
I recently found out I had Tiny Red Fire Ants when they stung me when I was picking fruit from my trees. I researched and was told Fire Ants prefer food higher in Protein more than sweets or grease, so bought 3 different products specifically for Fire Ants. Amdro is supposed to be the BEST against TRF Ants. So I spread it around and the TRF ants just ignored it. Thought the granules were too large for them to carry? But my black ants went nutz and took all the bait (had a black ant problem too). I always used Terro indoor traps for my indoor ant infestation but this time it didn't work as well on the black ants. Anyway, once I spread the Andro, drastic reduction in black ants. But no impact on the target TRFants. Finally figured out these Tiny Fire Ants prefer Tree sap, lived in trees more than in mounds in the dirt. Tried the Sweet Amdro traps but still they ignored it...I then bought every product Terro sold, the liquid drops put in beer caps in trees, put drops in the crooks of the trees, took some of my indoor terro traps and attached them to the trees with twist ties, etc...I even bought green plastic bait traps stakes, filled half with granules, half with liquid bait...But by far, the best was when I tied the Outdoor staked Terro Traps in the crook of the trees...(see Photo). Finally, the TRFant showed interest and I am hopeful that it will help to wipe them out. Suggestion: Use a sharp pruner or scissors to cut the tab off the end of the bait. Instructions says to snap tab off, but most would break off at the ends, not enough to open the bait up. More success by cutting it either before or after placement.Thank you Terro! Will be ordering more.

The only ant killer I have found that has kept the black ants out of my home. I put these out every year and it stops the ants immediately. No smell, no risk to pets or children or mess.

The TERRO liquid ant baits are by far the most effective ones I've used. I think I've tried several brands. I've tried the non-liquid baits from the same brand.

I found the TERRO liquid baid is the most effective one at attracting ants and stopping them within 2 to 3 days.

These are simple to set up and they do attract the ants and kill them. Only know is they're a little too tall. it would be nice if they were a little lower profile so you didn't have to pull them out of the ground before mowing the lawn.

I have a brick mailbox and have been battling ants. I have sprayed, used granulas all sorts of stuff. I put two of these on the ground at the base and next day ants were gone. I had a problem getting them open but that’s okay

Horrors...my house is built on a concrete slab. Spring brought in a ton of ants. I tried everything but they kept coming back. My sister suggested this product and I bought it and put it outside along wall of house. Within one day I saw dead ants all over the place. Took a few days, and they were all gone.

Like a number of other reviewers I had tried a number of other products before I got to this one. We live in a slab house and this summer we were SERIOUSLY invaded by ants. By seriously I mean you could put something on the counter, turn around to go to the refrigerator, and by the time you turned back they were coming out for whatever you put on the counter! No exaggeration. It was full out war. We had tried many products, including the stuff you put into your grass around the perimeter of the house, other brands of ant traps, sprays, borax, the stick things- all money down the drain. Now I think it made it worse, after reading the other reviews about what can happen using the sprays and such. I was at the point of contacting an exterminator though the expense would be a lot for us right now, and I prefer to have long term solutions I can do on my own- don't like to depend on services like that if at all possible. So, I went back to the internet one last time. Somehow I stumbled upon the reviews for this product. I have to admit I was still pretty skeptical but the other reviewers sold me on at least trying this product before going to the exterminator route. I ended up buying a full stockpile of the Terro products- a couple boxes of the outdoor baits, the outdoor liquid square things, and a number of boxes of the indoor - prefilled baits.

We have used less than one round of what I have purchased, and the ants are ALL BUT GONE. Unbelievable!! Based on other reviews, we cut off use of all other products for a few days and then put the Terro baits indoor and outdoor. We also did not move or clean away the baits, even though it was really gross with dead ants literally all over the baits and around the baits on the floor. We put out 4 of the indoor baits, mostly in the kitchen areas, and one box each of the outdoor baits. I would suggest that combo if you do have the extensive problem we had, because the ants swarmed to the baits, and the baits got over flowing with dead ants. Still our combo knocked them out in less than 3 weeks. I am incredibly pleased because the cost of all this was less than $50 and I still have a full second round to use. We are still getting a random ant here and there, which are very small in size. My partner is convinced they are "sending out the baby ants" because there are so few left to send LOL... I don't know about that but I do know I can make toast on the counter without ruining a full container of butter!

Also, I have both cats and a dog, and other than putting them behind or under some of my low kitchen furniture, I had no issue with them being around the animals. They had no interest in them.
