About Us

At Bogs, we know a thing or two about the great outdoors. We actually know way more than a thing or two about the great outdoors, but what's important to know is that we think the outdoors are great. That's why they're called the outdoors. You probably know that Bogs are from Oregon, the land of lumberjacks, trailblazers, dairy farmers, and cycling baristas with big, bushy beards. They have those beards because Oregon can be wet and cold and gloriously miserable. But with Bogs, your feet are never miserable. Because we have devoted our entire lives to making boots that are lighter and more comfortable, in any kind of weather. That's just who we are. We're Bogs, and we are comfortable in our own boots

*UPDATE*2 Mid-Atlantic winters later, these have cracks all along the top of the boot. They're still pretty warm on a cold dry day, but if it rains, then the rain seeps in now. Kind of a bummer, they were so good until now. They're particularly badly cracked where my foot bends in the boot.___I love these boots! They are so warm and cozy, and easy to slide in and out of. I wear them even when it's not raining or snowing, perfect for taking my dog around the block on a cold east coast morning.

I've had these boots for a week and I couldn't be more happy. I have hesitated to get them because of the price and have been using regular rubber boots. But as I am doing horse chores daily in the northern midwest, I needed something that would be warm and waterproof. I slogged through 6 inches of nearly frozen mud without feeling any of it, and have been doing chores in 10 - 20 degree weather this week and my feet are comfortably warm. I don't doubt they will keep me warm all winter. I also imagine they will stay waterproof and not get cracks rubber boots are susceptible to (though I can't claim that yet).

I ordered a size 9, though I generally wear 8 1/2. They are every so slightly too big (so I'd say the fit is true to size), but I have larger calves and wanted to be able to tuck my jeans in them. They solid but not too clunky. Jeans tucked in make them a bit tight, but not uncomfortable. The neoprene is a great improvement over regular rubber boots as it is stretch and grips your leg to make it more secure (less clunky) and more likely to stay on when you are mucking through nasty mud (and a horse runs you over). I stepped out of my rubber boots into freezing poop mud twice the week before these came in the mail.

Though they're not ideal riding boots, I rode in them. They fit in the stirrups (of a western saddle) and I rode bareback without them sagging or trying to slide off. I'll keep these on while riding in the mud season because they are comfortable and will save my riding boots.

I love these Bogs. I bought them for walking through the mud & puddles & rubble that the floods have brought us in California. They fit great and are actually cushiony and comfortable. I have wide feet, but they aren't too narrow. I am a size 6 1/2, so I ordered a 7, since they only come in whole sizes. I'm happy I sized up instead of down, as they fit just right. I wear with medium thick socks, and they keep my feet warm and dry. I don't need the hand holes on each side to pull them on, because they slip on easily, and I actually wish they didn't have these since it limits how deep I can go thru puddles. They seem well-made and rugged, and I walk over pebbles, rocks and boulders in them. I bought a pair for my husband and he loves them. Highly recommend these Bogs!

May I first say that I am a person who cannot keep their feet warm very easily.
These are a wonderful pair of boots! They really can be worn in all kinds of weather.
They have pretty good foot support (not hard, but not too soft either.)

What I loved about the boots:

* These boots were great for about 30-40 degree weather. (even though they are rated for -40 degrees)

* You can splish and splash through puddles (waterproof up to the ankle),

* they are very easy to wipe off (or you could jump in the snow and solve that problem),

* handles actually do come in handy when you have thicker pants/tights on to put the boots on.

Only complaints I have are these:

* Beware of ICE, they do not have very good traction. I was able to manage, but almost slipped numerous times.

*They are a little hard to drive in if you drive a compact car. The angle you sit at can be a little awkward for your feet to hit the gas and brake easily.

*Last, your feet have the potential for getting cold really fast if you have feet like mine, good pair of wool socks or thick socks solve this problem (I know some people don't have this problem, you could probably fore-go the extra socks for a lining.).

Great boots to have for a number of different outdoor projects. They are easy on and easy off. Surprisingly comfortable, too! Have not tried them in the snow yet but have waded in water and they keep feet warm and dry.

Even though many of the reviews said this boot ran a little small, I went ahead and ordered an 8 as all of my shoes are an 8 except one pair of Ariats that I had to get a 7.5 in. I was lucky enough to find my size on AWD at a great price so I had to try. Actually there wasn't a lot of options in a size 8 or 9 for these boots and I was a little bummed I didn't get to choose one of the cute colors.

1st Pair: left boot fit like a dream! Snug but not too small comfy like a wet suit! Right boot was HUGE! Checked the size, right boot womens size 10. Amazon as always was quick to make up for the mistake.

2nd Pair: Actual size 8's. Left boot fit awesome. Right boot just a hair too snug. After 5 minutes of wearing it in the house my foot was sore. DANG, returned.

3rd Pair: Tried a pair of Mucks Edgewater size 8. They were a Mens/Womens boot so even though the length felt good the boot felt loose on calf/leg/foot.

4th Pair: Bogs High Handle Classic in size 9. The upper was a much better fit than the Mucks, but the 9's are kinda big even with 2 pairs of socks.
>>>>>This is why I took off 1 star!!!! Bogs needs half sizes!!!!<<<<<<<< Performance: The first thing I tried with these is getting them wet. I wasn't sure if the neoprene upper was water proof. I put my boot on and stuck it under the shower for about 1 minute. The water just beaded up and rolled off. Inside remained dry. Walking through the wet melting snow to the car I have not had any wetness. I have not slipped on anything in these boots yet. I wore them outside all afternoon in 2 feet of wet melty snow the other day and my feet stayed warm and dry. I also spent about 5 to 10 minutes wading around in a puddle of mud and slush. It wasn't quite deep enough to reach the neoprene part but the lower part did its job. After words I just walked threw the snow and the boots were clean in seconds. Will update this in the future.

Last I don't know if this is good or bad but if I wear these around the house my feet get sweaty. I'm not a sweaty person and never have sweaty feet. I think this is because the boots are quite warm. I haven't gotten to really test them in the super cold as it hasn't been below 20 since I got these.

I put them on and noticed how comfy they are and yes: they're warm in winter. They are waterproof, easy to put on/off, no zipper to ruin, are very "giving" (you can also wear a warm pair of socks and still fit the boots) and I can hang them up because of the design of the top of the boot. Sold.

Buying my second pair. Very comfortable to wear and can use them on long walks. The ankle is slightly fitted which helps with comfort while walking. Warm and the neoprene upper and handles make them easy to pull on. First pair wore very well, developed a split which was the result of sharp rock damage.
