Uninterruptible Power Supply System
Why Do You Need a UPS System?
Even brief power outages can result in data loss or potential hardware damage. A UPS system provides battery backup power to keep your devices running during short outages and provides enough runtime to properly shut down electronics during extended outages.

Product Description
The CyberPower CP800AVR uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system provides battery backup and surge protection for lightning-induced surges and other power events that can damage electronic equipment. This UPS, with line-interactive topology, uses simulated sine wave output to deliver battery backup to power connected electronics during a utility power failure. The unit has enough runtime to perform a graceful shutdown to protect against the loss of data and damage to valuable desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems. The CP800AVR uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power. AVR is essential in areas where power fluctuations occur frequently, and it helps to extend the unit’s battery life. CyberPower designed the CP800AVR to minimize noise for a quieter work environment and run efficiently to reduce power consumption. With a $200,000 lifetime connected equipment guarantee and a three-year warranty, you can trust CyberPower’s commitment to the quality of this battery backup with surge protection.

Using a P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor , I measured the max draw for the connected computer (configured as described above), monitor, and 1 external hard drive to be 352 watts at power-up/boot-up. According to the included CP PowerPanel software, the system typically idles at between 270-280 watts (between 280-290 watts according to the P3 meter). The PowerPanel software fairly consistently displays 16-18 minutes runtime remaining (at idle) when the battery is 100% charged. Obviously, less power-hungry systems can expect longer run times. The fairly compact unit came fully charged, was very easy to setup, and, so far, seems to work exactly as advertised (although, I haven't had a power interruption to test its true mettle yet).
I recommend not installing the PowerPanel software from the included disk, but rather going to CP's website and downloading the latest version (free) from there. The software installed easily and does not seem buggy. As best I can tell, the software installs 2 custom background processes, pppeuser.exe and ppped.exe, that use approx. 5.6Mb and 4.8Mb of memory (at idle), respectively.
After a near-death experience with a recent power outage, I bought this unit primarily for the ability to automatically/softly shut down my (unattended) computer via windows. My research indicated that this was a solid value for the combination of power, features, and warranty (3 yrs.). The comparable LCD version ( Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD UPS - LCD Display 1500VA/900W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45/Coax Tower USB ) adds an external LCD display for about $35.00 extra MSRP (but may sell for at or near same price); otherwise, I think the features are comparable. I didn't feel I needed/wanted the LCD display, since all that information (and more) is available via the software's system tray icon; others may feel differently about that.
Giving the unit 5 stars a this point was a no-brainer.
However, there seem to be no alternatives for a reasonable price to protect a single home computer system.
My laptop supposedly will hibernate when the power fails, but it often fails to recover. I got tired of this, and with summer coming in Florida (think thunderstorms), I needed better protection to avoid high frustration.
So far, it's kept computer, external monitor, and networking running into half a dozen power outages. I don't push the limits, but I can comfortably finish what I'm working on and put the computer into hibernation. That leaves enough capacity in the UPS to keep the networking equipment running for some long time, so I can continue using my phone on WiFi instead of mobile data.
So for performance so far, it's done very well. But I'll never give top stars to a UPS that uses a lead-acid battery.
I totally discounted the monitoring capability. For goodness sake, it comes with a first-generation USB cable and doesn't do WiFi. Boo.
I work from home so and these make sure that my systems and internet don’t drop making everything work seamlessly even when I’m on a teams meeting.

Utilizo este UPS para conectar una PC gamer con una fuente de poder de 750w (en carga máxima no los consume pero si se acerca a los 500w) y dos monitores (uno de alta taza de refrescado y un IPS). No he tenido ningún problema.
