This was a nice add-on item for the little ones. Good price compared to others I have seen out there. Very basic cardboard for kitty to scratch on.
Seems fairly decent quality, the cardboard has not shredded yet like some. Size is good for kitty sitting on top or laying just half body on... works for average sized (14 lbs) adult kitties.
The instant I put it down on the floor, they were inspecting it. The little packet of catnip (came with it) that I sprinkled on it might have helped. I just used maybe half of the teeny bag on it. I will refresh it when they seem bored of it.
One cat was completely in the dark as the function of it, so she just laid on it and sniffed the catnip. The other cat is a bit smarter and jumped on top and started scratching. The good (and sometimes bad thing) about the kitties is that they learn from each other through watching. Anyways, one attacks or lays on it every once in awhile over the day. The other one checks it out maybe once or twice a day, he's too busy enjoying his new cat cave created with a window, a bench and a sheer curtain.

Durable cat scratcher with fresh catnip for a better price than at specialty pet stores
My cats adore these. If I don't keep them around, my furniture and stariway carpet fall victim. They are perfect because they come with catnip, so the cats are attracted to the scratcher.The catnip comes in a little sealed baggie, not yet applied to the scratcher. That way you can use some immediately and some to freshen up it's attractiveness later. Also, I found the catnip to be super fresh. Sometimes freshness can be an issue - I find with stale catnip my cats are far, far less frisky with it. But the catnip that come with this scratcher was great.After it's been around awhile of course, damage was done based on how much my cats use it. But I found the quality to be good enough that even with heavy scratching, it didn't fall apart as quickly as I expected.The price on amazon beats the price for similar products that I've bought from Petco and Petsmart and the quality is absolutely comparable. This is a must have around my house, and I'd highly recommend.NOTE ON VIDEO: The video and picture was taken after months of use, so know that it is only a little testimony to the fact that it is still going strong.
