Our Granules replace traditional litter!

Washable Granules are cat-safe granules that satisfies a cat's need to dig and cover, but never needs to be replaced! All you do is add Granules whenever the level gets below the line in the bowl. That's it! Washable Granules are made of a dust-free, non-toxic combination of natural and synthetic materials with a special additive to make them bio degradable and break down naturally in Septic Systems.

Each box is the size of a box of rice and lasts 2-5 months depending on the number of cats, their waste, and how much your cats dig in their box.

IMPORTANT: NEVER use cat litter in the CatGenie.

We supply the litter-like Washable Granules that provide cats the material they need to dig and cover. The Washable Granules are made specially for the CatGenie. Anything else will damage the unit, clog your pipes, and void your Warrantee.

These work perfect if you own any models of the "cat genie" litter box. They do just want they are supposed to. They last a long time through your cat genie's cleaning cycles, and since they are reusable/washable. If your cat kicks them out of the littler box or tracks them around the house you can sweep them up and dump them back in the litter box, and next time it ru s it cleans them off and disposes of the waste and sanitizes everything. I've had 3 different cats in the past 3-4 months being watched at my house all who are used to traditional litter boxes, and all of them have been ok with using the cat genie litter box with the cat genie granules. Yes your cats will poop on these and pee! And that is just what you want!

I bought a CatGenie, with the added dome, directly from their website back in November (nine months ago), I was thrilled we finally had a home with an actual laundry room and space to put this behemoth of a litter box. I bought my first box of granules in December, knowing that I'd need to maintain a certain depth of litter for the Genie to function properly.

These granules do track everywhere, it's easy to tell if my cat has been getting somewhere she shouldn't have been, because I find one or two of these on the counter or somewhere else similar on a regular basis. Having a litter mat directly in front helps, and another complaint I read was during the wash cycle they tend to fly... the dome accessory helps with this dramatically. Otherwise, after six months, I finally emptied my first replacement box of granules. I only have one cat, but my Genie does run twice a day. I do also have a part goat, corgi puppy, who was just simply using the kitty flap into the laundry room and eating the granules themselves as a snack (I checked each time I caught him, box was clean, he's just... part goat), which also sped up the need of a new replacement box.

If I'm not feeling lazy and am halfway ambitious, it's also very easy to pick up the mat I have in front, fold it, and dump the loose litter that I can back into the Genie.

This product works great but you do have to have the "CatGenie" litter box to use them as directed. However, if you can not afford the cat genie I am sure you could improvise some type of draining cat pan using these granules and do a rotational wash and dry of them. While they are drying you can put new granules down or previously washed and dried granules. The benefit is they are washable and become scent free to humans. if you do use the companies liquid washing packets with their machine and run out of the disinfectant wash you can turn off the "CatGenie" wash out the whole unit by hand. Keep it unplugged and let dry completely wash the granules in a separate container with a very mild and all natural dish washing soap (use very little to prevent over sudsing and extensive rinsing). Remember this is done by hand and not using any other cleaning product directly in the "CatGenie" itself to keep warranty intact. Rinse granules until all soap rinses clear, drain and dry and then you are ready to replace them back into the "CatGenie" for use until your supply of disinfectant comes in or place back in you master minded self draining cat pan you design yourself. It beats nasty clay litters or any other type of litter because they are washable and reusable for quite sometime before breaking down. Next best step next to teaching your pets to all use the toilet and flushing themselves.

OK, so the tempermental Cat Genie is a not for everyone. But for the rest of us, it's godsend. What these granules do for me is maintain a very sanitary litter box for a valuable 15 year old service animal on chemotherapy and help his person who has a compromised immune system and can't handle litter at all. I'm so grateful that I no longer have to deal with scooping and bagging and hauling, and fight the endless battle of odor and sanitizing.

The granules track as bad as any other litter with the difference being they don't have ANY "dust" at all. You do feel it if you step on the individual granules, but if you put a large litter mat or a big plush rug in front of the litter box, the granules will be caught in them and you can pick up the edges of the rug, shake loose the granules and then dump them back into the box, using the rug to funnel them.

There is no solution to cat litter boxes unless you have a full time maid, but this is one option that I think is the best solution for indoor litter boxes for many of us. If you have the need for bacterial reduction and minimizing dust, this is as good as it gets.

The granules do what they are meant to. I tried a bunch of different alternatives in the catgenie (even though you're not supposed to) like bird seed, fine gravel, other cheaper granule beads but my cats didn't like it and the bowl didn't work 100% either. They did the job but if the cat doesn't like it then you have an expensive useless litter box. The granules are more expensive than the other things but if it works and my cats use the litter box then its worth it. It's still cheaper than buying regular litter every month and cleaning it all the time too.
