How long can I use Bouncer Balance Soft?Bouncer Balance Soft can be used by newborns and up to the age of 2. In the early months, until your baby starts trying to sit up, you can use it as a bouncer. You can then use the bouncer as a comfortable child seat by simply reversing the fabric seat. |
Can you change the fabric seat?Yes, the fabric seat is very easy to attach and remove. This is ideal if you need to wash it (all of our fabric seats are machine washable) or want to give your bouncer a makeover with a new color or fabric. |

Beautifully designed and portable, but really more for mom and dad than baby.
This has ultimately been a good buy for us, although I feel annoyed every time I think about how much it cost. We started using this when our baby was 10 weeks old and we moved overseas. We wanted something lightweight, portable, and easy to stow. This meets all those requirements. I love that I can pick it up and put it in the kitchen or the bedroom or wherever I am. Our baby never really enjoyed the lower seat settings, so we only use it in the fully-upright position. She tolerates it for up to 20 minutes or so, max, but that's long enough to fold some laundry or empty the dishwasher.I also love the design and colors; I don't mind it sitting out in our living room. In the beginning, that was important when I still cared about whether my house looked like a daycare, but now that my baby is nearly six months and crawling everywhere, the whole living room is plastered in play mats and toys. Also, the toy rack is nice (although another annoying added expense). It was the first item my baby reached for, and I believe it was what taught her to use her hands. She was batting at the toy rack a full month before she started reaching for toys on the floor. Finally, I love that this thing is easy to clean. We've had a couple of blowout diapers while she was sitting in this, and it was so easy to just snap off the cover and throw it in the wash. WAY easier than a baby swing, with all the connectors and parts to disassemble.Speaking of swings, we got this in place of a swing, but I sort of regret that. Her nana bought a swing to have at her house, and the baby LOVES that thing, while she only tolerates the chair. This was a useful buy, but the cost still frustrates me (which is why I only give it 4 stars).If I turn on the fireplace and put baby in her chair in front of the fire, she will watch that thing for ages while sitting in the chair. Also *cough cough* baby einstein works well on those days when you're really desperate for 15 minutes. In other words, this thing keeps baby safe and contained when you need them to be, but it's not like baby LOVES the chair or anything.

The Baby Bjorn Bouncer resolves all of these issues and give you a truly durable and functional product well worth the money. The seat is preassembled (unlike most) which gives you one less thing to put together while preparing for baby-a big plus! It also collapses so that it can be stored very easily even in many narrow spaces. This is especially great when storing it for the next baby. I love that the seat design is simple, sleek, and light weight enough I can bring into any room of the house to have baby happily bounce right next to me. Another huge huge plus is how easy it is to wash. The cover simply slides off and goes right in the wash. No pulling or untangling the belt buckles to remove it-and it washes very nicely (i.e. No pilling!). Possibly what really makes this worth the price, is the longevity of use. Being able to use this through toddlerhood is what seals the deal-nor do I have to worry about my current toddler trying to use it when baby is not. I really wish I would've looked past the price tag of this seat with my first baby to see the true value in such a functional well designed baby product. Definitely a must have item for new (or new again!) parents!
P.s. if price really is an issue consider buying an "open box" condition one from amazon for a great discount.
The ONLY bouncer seat worth your money

With my first baby I got a cheap bouncer seat with the vibrator in it available just about anywhere. It quickly became one of the more despised baby items and was donated. My experience with traditional baby bouncer seats is that babies do not like or notice the vibrator setting-it's just a waste of money (they eat expensive batteries), they are bulky and feel cheaply made, they are very quickly outgrown, and are usually an eye sore (the baby stuff is cute at first but as a first time parent you'll more than likely start to feel like you are drowning in a home full of "cutesy" baby things).Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2017
