This has become nothing short of a new addiction for me. It took a while to finally “complete” it as I have been planning, and now that it is I have to say I’m an even happier camper than I was anticipating.

Unlike most people who own one of these, I am actually using it more for fiction writing. I don’t really do a lot of journaling, as not much goes on in my day-to-day life that’s worth noting in something extra special like this. However, my creative imagination is constantly going at light speed while I’m holed up in my office or room. Usually a regular old notebook from Wal-Mart has sufficed as a plate to jot everything down, while I save actual journals for actual stories.

When I stumbled across the Midori Traveler’s Notebook, just from browsing JetPens’ products at random, it piqued my interest enough to do some research. And after seeing what people did with theirs, all kinds of ideas started coming to me on how I could better organize notes for up to 3 projects at a time if I so chose. And since buying it, I’ve dolled it up to actually express me in ways I can’t really do with the usual notebooks.

As of right now, I have the zipper case, the file folder, the blank it came with and 2 grid books. Also using the set of 3 pocket stickers and the matching pen holder (the Ohto Orca was the best choice both to fit the holder and use on the paper). Each book is decorated with some scrapbook stickers and pictures I printed from Google searches pertaining to their intended contents. As for personalizing this puppy, it gave me a reason to dig up some old stickers from a previous project and an excuse to buy some others. Also printed out some phone pics and dug up a couple old photos to slip in the sleeve on the zipper case. Though because it was a bit on the flimsy side, I cut out some pieces of a standard file folder and slipped them under the photos to keep it flat, which works pretty well. I also keep a simple memo pad in the back for composing online shopping lists, which I then store in a little 3.5 x 4.75 inch envelope up front.

As for a charm, as some people like to put on theirs, I bought a phone charm from a French manga artist of whom I am a huge fan. I’ve purchased quite a few of her merchandise, including 5 charms. Each of them came with little slip papers printed with the charm designs, and I never had the heart to throw them away. So now I’ve consolidated them in my Midori, and a couple of her cards in the card pocket. Just to express my fandom.

Every time I pick up my Midori and look at it, I feel inspired to write more. To add more. To actually USE it. Because it allows for incorporating whatever inspires me or gets me in a creative mood. I have done more work on my projects in the past couple weeks than I have in a few months, just from buying this notebook. And I couldn’t be happier.

It may be more designed to inspire travel, but it just inspires me to write. I will definitely give it 5 stars for that.

Beautiful notebook. I'm glad I now have the original traveler's notebook, as I have several Chic Sparrow notebooks, which I also love. The TRAVELER'S COMPANY Traveler's Notebook is elegant in its simplicity, and the leather is so soft and supple and I love how the cover lies flat. It's just elegant and neat and clean. I love it so much I bought one for a friend for her birthday.

I have finally found the one. I have been looking for something that holds my attention. I have a Sevens Seas Crossfield that I was using for about 2 months. I loved it and didn't think I could find anything better than it. I use my notebook as a "common place" book. Containing my calendars, journal entries, random thoughts, and daily to-dos. After 2 months of using it this way it was about 1/3 full. I've seen TN all over the web and notebook sites, but I never thought that it was for me. After filling so much of my Seven Seas up, I quickly realized that I should have tried a TN first.

The price of a TN is what got me. I understand that these are refillable and leather, but the penny pincher side of me wasn't happy about the price. After a few weeks of debating with myself and using more pages in my notebook I decided to take the plunge. Oh boy, I'm so glad I did. I received my TN on Friday and I haven't put it down. It feel so right in my hands. I looks so lovely. It's an odd feeling to have a notebook that inspires you to write and draw just by holding it. I find myself wanting to write and doodle in it at the worst of times. (ex. while driving). I didn't realize how handy this notebook is. I'm honestly in love.

I've already ordered more refills for it and I haven't even had it one week. It is very true what they say once you fall down the Midori hole, there's no going back.!!

Let me start by saying why I gave this a 3-star review. It comes down to personal preference and how the leather feels. I have 4 of the Travelers Company Notebooks. Blue, Brown, Camel, and Black. The leather on this feels extremely hard almost like plastic. I am not sure if this will show wear and tear as I continue to use it for my journaling. The product itself is perfect in every other way and has a wonderful leather aroma. The Blue and the Brown feel very similar in touch, while the camel is much softer like butter. However, the black TN just doesn't have that same feel as the others.

Great covers, and they weather so nice.
