It's a great buy no doubt it, cause I don't like the mesh or cloth it makes it nasty, smelly and dirty. It was a little hard to put together because some doesn't fit. I had to use glue to keep them together. There is a part that broke too so easily when I was putting it together but it's still a great buy compared to other shoe racks.

I just opened and put the rack together today. I do see what some of the reviews mean when they say it’s flimsy, but I don’t think this would be a problem if you put together the product correctly. I would recommend putting the rack together on hard floors, rather than carpet. The plastic makes it hard for you to put the rods in without a stable surface. Really make sure that all the rods are all the way in. Also, the hinges seemed a little big, but you can adjust them to fit your door (if it’s smaller than the hinges). However, the way the hinges are, you have to have them facing the direction the door closes in. The back of the hinges bulk outward so they will make it a little harder to close your door if you have that part in between the door and the doorframe. This is only important if you want to put your shoe rack in a specific place. I wanted the shoe rack on my room door facing inside my room, but because of the hinges, the shoe rack would’ve face on the outside of my room. I ended up just moving the shoe rack onto my closet door, but it’s something to think about. Ultimately, you could have the shoe rack facing whatever direction, but it bothers me if the door doesn’t open/close smoothly. The shoe rack also comes with these tiny but super sticky Velcro to put between the bottom of the rack and the door. I noticed that my rack didn’t sit evenly on my door (probably due to how to put it together or something), but the Velcro fixed this problem. Overall, it’s a good shoe rack if you have a lot of shoes and little space. I’ll update if it starts falling apart.

Edit: it’s been about 3-4 months. The shoe rack is still holding. But just make sure you have the bottom of the rack secured to the door. The weight of your shoes will push against the door and the rack will end up lifting forwards and your shoes on the bottom shelves will fall through. I added an image showing this

Where do I start. I never write reviews but I am so disappointed with this product I have to. Do not buy.
So cheaply made. Putting it together was a nightmare as the pieces all dangle. Some of the adjustable shelf arms were even broken. Everything keeps falling apart as you work to put some of the bars together.
When I finally managed to get it together after a few hours, I broke a sweat. So many of the bars fell loose as I hung the shelf up. It fits on the outside of the door but blocks the door handle. I can’t even place all my shoes on as even with one pair of sneakers, some of the bars fall out. I have one pair of shoe on every other rung. It’s cheap garbage. I can’t even take it apart to return as the main frame is stuck. And now I am trapped with garbage that falls apart with placing anything. Can’t even put empty plastic bags on some of the rows.
The product would be better if it came with glue or stronger snapping inserts. I’m thoroughly disappointed at how much time this wasted.

This was a super simple and easy solution for our shoe organization. My 12yr old son put this together with no problems. One bracket had a crack in it but the company was great about getting a replacement sent to us. Like others have mentioned, you can fit more shoes depending on what angle you place them on the shelves. We did a combo of the two options and it's working great. Obviously for a closet door that swings inward, it eats up a little space (I think 7") between the back of the door and whatever is on the other side. Our closet has clothes racks on the other side. I didn't want the bottoms of our shoes to be touching our clothes all the time, so I hung a garment bag over the shoes to protect the clothes. The little velcro/tape pieces that are included for stabilizing the unit to the door help a lot! Ours only worked at the very bottom but they're strong and keep the shoe rack from banging on the door every time we open/close it.

I bought this for my sons' room. They are preteens and share a small bedroom and we needed better storage solutions for their shoes, which were ending up all over the place. Initially i thought this waa great - it felt very stable, looked good, and holds a lot of shoes. Within 2 days of having it, i found a big issue. The shoes all fall forward and end up between the rack and the door, or all over the floor. There is no way to secure the bottom of the rack to the door to prevent the gaping that happens. My husband ended up rigging something up to try to prevent it, but the sandals and thinner shoes like Converse still fell through. He finally used a ton of sticky tack and secured the rack to the door and that seems to be holding for now. The rack really needs something across the back (front?) part thay touches the door to keep the shoes from falling through. It's too late to send it back and try to find something else, so we will just keep working on improving it ourselves with different materials around our house.

And with this over the door shoe rack; it makes it easy to store shoes that are easy to choose from rather than digging through boxes or trying to find that certain pair in a mile long line of shoes on the closet floor. Very easy to assemble; had mine put together in minutes! Probably within a few months will be ordering another one. As I stated; a Lady can NEVER have enough shoes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mounted Back of the Door Shoe Rack
Reviewed in Canada on April 21, 2021

This is a great option for those with limited space. We needed something to mount on a door that wasn't going to damage it as we're in a rental. Very easy to put together, and slip over the top of the door. A main complaint is that it will separate from the door, and shoes will fall through if not attached/fastened/screwed at the bottom. I remedied this by attaching heavy duty 3M adhesive strips to the contact points. It has been up in our closet for about 3 months with shoes from myself, two kids and husband and we have not had any trouble.

Great product but get yourself some double sided tape!

Easy to put together and holds lots of shoes. I especially like the fact that each ‘shelf’ can be flipped up allowing for taller boots and shoes to be stored. It easily fits on a door in my storeroom and allows shoes to be easily seen/found and also allows the shoes to dry quickly. I am extremely pleased with it... it has solved the messy pile of shoes in the hallway problem!
