Our cat has had a few different litter boxes over the past seven years, and this one is the best so far. Although it's pricey, we've had even more expensive litter boxes that didn't hold up well. Its minimal design isn't an eyesore, and it includes a liner, making it easier to maintain a clean litter box. The height and width are big enough for our 12-pound cat to move in and out comfortably. The MODCAT litter box is perfect. This will be my forever litter box. And if I need a new one, it’ll be a MODCAT. My only complaint is it takes longer than typical Amazon purchases to be delivered (about 2 weeks).
However it is WORTH THE WAIT!!
You can easily flip the magnetic attached top to clean with the included scoop that fits on either left or right side of the box! Also there is NO mess and NO smell and ZERO leaks. The liner is a great touch that makes complete litter changes a breeze. They’re also laser fitted to the box so there is no annoying loose liner that would cause an issue. 10/10. All litter boxes should be made with this quality in mind.

I was skeptical buying this litter box because of the price and also concern that my 22 year old cat wouldn’t be able to get in it. However, after reading reviews and recommendations, I decided to go for it. I am so glad we did. It is 100% worth every single penny.

We have 3 cats and multiple cat boxes, but one of the cats is constantly digging out all the cat litter no matter what kind of box we buy. Meaning, I’m constantly either replacing the litter or sweeping and putting it back in the box. My other two cats do not dig any more than necessary.

Package: the packaging is neat and minimal.

Product: looks minimalistic and neat. It is a bigger box but mostly height-wise. easy to assemble. You really only have to apply the clips to the box for the liner that goes in it and apply the lid for the top of the box which is magnetized, and you can leave it half open, closed, or fully open depending on your and your pets’ preference. I love that the box has a slot for the pooper scooper that comes with it. Assembly is super easy, not even 5 minutes from opening the packaging to placing the litter box in my preferred location and Bam! It was ready to go.

Use: immediately, all of my cats were intrigued by the box and each had used it within hours. Absolutely no mess to be found anywhere outside the box!! My 22 year old cat is able to step into the box easily thanks to the tall pet entry. And the one that digs and digs, doesn’t like the litter bouncing off the liner onto his fur, so that’s been eliminated as a problem. The liner is a tarp-like material (great for re-use) that covers the entirety of the interior and is super easy to remove for fast, quick cleaning. I usually wash our litter boxes when I change out the litter, but now I only have to clean or simply replace the liner, which will save me time and effort.

Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. If I had to say anything at all negative, it would be that it’s kind of annoying the clips for the liner you have to place yourself instead of just being part of the box. Not enough to take any stars away, just a preference. I am so happy with this product that I will be replacing all of our litter boxes with this one.

For anyone who has a fur kitty who doesn’t squat to #1 and has had urine hit the walls or floor or your fur kitty loves to sling litter everywhere then you know how important it is to have high sides to a litter box.
After having this for a few months here are my pros and cons…
PROS:
1. High sides 2. removable lid 3. folding lid
4. scoop holder and scoop (though we don’t use them we prefer metal scoops). 5. The cute kitty maze toy that comes with the box. 6. The free liner that comes with it (though we do not use the liner as we clean our box daily and sometimes twice daily (their human mommy doesn’t like a dirty box). 😄
CONS:
1. Size…We purchased the largest one and it’s not large enough for my male cat who is 3 yrs old and long. He’s a slender but long cat and struggles turning around in it. By no means is he a large cat. If it were 4-6 inches wider it would be way more comfortable for turning in.
2. Cleaning (scooping) out the box is not easy due to the transition from bottom to sides being sharp angle and not curved to allow scoops to get into the corners very well. There is also a little dip around the bottom that urine and litter gets stuck in as well.
3. The price.

All in all we are satisfied with the litter box and it will do for now since we paid $89 for it. We hope the company would reach out to us for some ideas on a bigger box with more of a smooth curve to transition from bottom to sides vs the sharp angle.
We are willing to pay the $89 price again if the cons could be addressed and believe they’d have the ultimate litter box on their hands!

Don’t normally leave reviews or spend $90 on plastic but this is coming from someone who owns a litter robot. Anyways it’s sleek and love the foldable lid and liner. The cats took to it right away. There is still some litter kick out but not as much as I thought. That said I have cats and kittens but no one over 13 pounds. If you have a chonks or a bigger cat then maybe get the XL. There is only room for one “normally” sized cat here. Otherwise I can’t believe how much I love this. It does come with a liner and those are about $20-$30 so if you consider this it really is reasonable considering you get a liner too, plus a scooper and a filter. Highly recommended!

We ordered this box because one of our girls is an “elevator” pee-er! She starts slow and slowly stands up. Standard litter boxes with a lid don’t tend to cut it as urine was getting in between the top and bottom or coming right out the side.

There aren’t a ton of options for us Canadians in this category, was really happy to see this on Amazon! Box arrived two weeks (!) early which was a great surprise. Cute packaging and my cats really enjoyed that the box could be reused as a toy. Ingenious! Anyway back to the box itself, does a great job. Flip top is sturdy box looks very minimal. Knocked one star did because it’s a little smaller than I some of the standard boxes you can buy at the pet store. It’s also a bit of a heart attack spending that much money on a litter box but ultimately it solved a big problem for us and is totally worth it. I can see this box lasting us for years to come!
