I wanted something that did not turn off automatically, and wanted a slide switch (I had a heating pad with a push button that you had to cycle through low-med-high, and it shut itself off after two hours. The switch wore out after a year.).

I purchased the smaller size first. It worked well, but I needed to cover my hip and upper leg to ease inflammation. I've been using the larger size for about a week, and can now sleep through the night without adjusting the heating pad (on a lower setting, of course). It's also great for warming up cold feet quickly.

The Sunbeam large (I hate "King Size" - it's a heating pad, not a candy bar!) heating pad is a very good product that is inexpensive, relatively soft, and flexible.

I bought this for when my back pain kicks in, and I can tell you this really helps. It's a nice and long heating pad, and the three settings of heat differ enough that the hottest setting is barely needed for me. I use it often, and I haven't found any splitting in the plastic covering since I've gotten it and used it. I also really like that it has a shut off at 2 hours after turning it on. It claims that it's waterproof on the packaging but I haven't tried that yet and probably won't, but the fact the cover for it is very durable makes me believe it most likely is.
