Surprised
So farvi am very impressed the actual blade length is good as is the handle. When I opened it the blade felt like it had been oiled or rubbed with something else, probably to protect the blade so i was happy about that and it came very sharp so definitely a plus

This is the perfect EDC knife! It is so light, but yet I can still get all fingers on the handle. It is a little stiff opening and closing at first, but I just played with it and after opening and closing about 50 times, it started to loosen up. Now it flies out so fast that you would think it was assisted! The blade centering is perfect and lockup is wonderful. I have not adjusted the pivot screw at all and everything is just perfect. The AUS8 blade is razor sharp and holds its edge very well. If you are looking for a lightweight EDC knife at a great price, this is it! Skip the high priced Delica and buy this!

Love the shape of the Zancudo blade and the frame lock. Blade is AUS-8 steel, good balance for this price point and you won't hesitate to use this if you have a chore to do. Sharpens easily. I also have RAT 2, similar size, and I like the blade shape of the Zancudo better, as well as the bit heavier weight and seemingly more solid frame lock. My go to EDC for tougher tasks where I need a rugged blade that I can beat on if needed.

Solid EDC pocketknife.

Razor sharp out of the box, blade is perfectly centered. It needed to break in for about a week before the frame lock would loosen up enough to allow one handed closure without causing significant thumb pain. The clip resembles the one on the Kershaw Leek. This knife is like an improved Kershaw Leek.

As far as comparisons to the Ontario Rat 2, I prefer the Zancudo's thinner profile, handle shape, and Stonewash finished blade to the Rat's satin finish because the Zancudo's blade is more scratch resistant. Both knives were designed by the same 2 guys...they're probably made in the same factory.

Perspective buyers should be aware that the Zancudo and the larger Avispa are now available with upgrades that aren't yet available through amazon as of February 2017. On other sites it's available with D2 steel blade and carbon fiber (like on race cars) scales/ handle. These are significant upgrades. As of Febuary 2017 the Ontario Rat 2 isn't available with these upgrades.

With these upgrades it would be a 5 star knife for not much more money.

In my estimation this is the best flipper for the money. High quality carbon steel, comparable to that of a Benchmade or a Spyderco. These really holding edge are very simple to use and are very sturdy. They thought about the design in that it has grip on the side not facing your pocket so you don't rip up your jeans taking in and out. ESSE is impeccable quality, I also own one of their Bushcraft knives. I own several SOG / Columbia River / Benchmade knives, even a couple Andre Thorburn's. This is my daily carry.

Arrived razor sharp. Handle is easy to hold for small hands, but clip side can be a little uncomfortable. Embarrassed to sound ignorant (I'm a knife novice), but it took me quite a while to figure out how to close the knife---found out by reading reviews. Instructions would have helped. For anyone else wondering, you push on the "lower" metal bar in the handle to separate the two bars at the top. It can be a little stiff to use for someone with small hands, but it's getting a bit easier with practice and breaking in. Good first knife for a novice who wants to graduate from small pen knife.

Of all my "cheap" EDC knives, this one is the cheapest feeling. I'm comparing it to a $15 Amazon basics and $15 Kershaw, so when I paid double for this one, I was disappointed. The overall feel of it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence and it doesn't look as good as the cheaper knives. I won't return it, but won't be using it as a primary EDC, either.
