Great solid roof rack but fitmemt issues for thicker fork Mountain Bikes.
I started out with the Yakima Forklift roof rack but quickly returned it since the included skewer was too short to accommodate my mountain bike (Santa Cruz 5010). Yes, there was an adaptor to buy as extra but wanted a semi secure setup was some what of a priority.I noticed they had a new more premium set up called the Highspeed. Went ahead and ordered that as the skewer dimensions seemed a lot better and the mounting system and 3 locks made this a better choice.Product was nice, well built and i also ordered another 2 locks since this included a better lock down system. So fast forward to the day I installed my bike. Once again was disappointed to see the included skewer was too short. I went ahead and mounted my bike using the original axel (not recommended). It was shaking alittle but did the job to my 20 mile destination. I did some searching on the web to see if I could find a longer skewer or something to firmly secure my bike to the rack. So far have not found anything.I also engaged yakima to see if there is a better solution than using an adaptor for this rack yet again.Works great with the Yakima setup and is solid and love the extra locking system. I feel this is worth the upgrade from the forklift but disappointed this doesn't fit mountain bike forks that are thicker and running a thru axel of about 130mm (bike lingo is limited). I heard there is a new standard of 110 now and if the answer to this would be to buy an adaptor I think yakima needs to rethink their product.3 stars for now unless i can find a better solution than an adaptor. I do undserstand my lack of understanding on what my bike needed and what Yakima provided but eh!

I've driven Subies for the past 18 yrs., starting with a couple of the previous generation Outbacks, which had roof racks that handled the Yakima Boa system beautifully. Several years ago I stepped down to an Imprezza, which worked fine with the Boa system also until I got a new mtb (27.5"). The Imprezza's roof rack wasn't able to handle the longer frame dimensions of the 27.5 and the back tire of my bicycle ended up falling back onto the car roof. Was about to get this rack when I decided spontaneously after four years with the Prezzy that heck I wanted an Outback again. To my disappointment, I found that the racks on the latest model Outbacks are not designed to accommodate the Boa rack. Not sure why they shortened up the rack length like they did when it seems like they could have kept things longer with no problem. Anyway, I now had to buy a new rack and mistakenly ordered the High Road. Way way heavy and bulky for my liking. Light and simple works best for me. So swapped it in for the High Speed and the High Speed is truly light and simple. And good. It's been 18 yrs. since I've purchased a bicycle rack and while that Boa was very well designed and served me well (wish it were still able to!), it's amazing to observe how designs have changed. The design of the High Speed is ingenious. Simple and straightforward. Easy on easy off. Doesn't get in the way of the moon roof. Holds tight. Easy to mount the bike (easier than it was with the Boa). You almost don't know it's there. I'm on a 15mm thru axle and it works perfectly (although I'm not sure how smart it is to be using the thru axle I ride on with the rack too...). The only down side of the High Speed for me is that unlike the Boa system, which you could grow with less expensive parts as needed, I'll need to pick up an entire second High Speed to get the second bicycle up top. Got a great deal on the Zon, though, so maybe if I'm careful with my nickels and dimes, it won't be too long.
Don't let me forget! Two of the sks locks from my Boa swapped over to the High Speed seemlessly and secure the bike and the rack to the car so no worries if you have to run errands while the bike is on the roof. Man, the roi on my Boa and the sks locks--18 yrs. of constant use--is a little mind boggling. Good engineering is a gift, and worth every cent of the investment.

So first, I only gave it 4 stars because the cinch strap on the back tire doesn’t get very tight and the tire still wiggles, which was super concerning to me the entire drive. And I had to retighten everything after leaving high winds.
I bought this to be able to throw my bike on top on a road trip from California to Colorado. It worked great. I went through extremely high winds where I was sure my bike would have blown off, but it didn’t move. I did have to retighten the front knob and back cinch after leaving said high winds. Overall, it works. It is concerning that the contraptions that keep the bike on will loosen over time, so just keep an eye on that.
It was easy to install on a roof rack and it’s light. Nothing fancy that you have to do to get it up there and tightened. I recommend watching a YouTube video on it so you know how the lockdowns that tighten on the roof rack, work because they aren’t very intuitive.

I don't normally review products (I should more often) so this is a testament to how happy I am with it. I went back and forth on a hitch, a roof rack with tire on and fork style roof rack. I opted for this option because it seemed the most secure out of the roof racks and I preferred the bike on the roof to deter anyone from having easy access to it. The HighSpeed mount imo is the best option because the mount allows you to prep the bike first (install axle before as opposed to once the bike is on the roof) then put it up and in the mount and quickly lock it in. I also prefer the security as you can install a lock on the mount itself so it cannot be easily removed from the vehicle. You can also lock the fork ratcheting mechanism so it cannot be backed out (also, when tightened, the axle cannot be backed out) and lastly the mount itself has a built in cable lock for added security. Quality is excellent and the mount is as low profile as it can get while including all of the above.

I've had the roof racks for about two months now on a 2019 Honda Odyssey. I can't say enough about the versatility and ease-of-use in this design. The rack is easily removed from the roof if you decide to store it and it takes about 1 minute to put it on and another minute to put the bike on. No need for adapters or other nonsense. I'm currently using 27.5 boost and 27.5 standard thru-axle mountain bikes.
If I had to register one complaint it would be with the loose-fitting rubber pads that go between the vehicle's roof bars and the rack itself. These pads are prone to fall out due to the design. My suggestion would be to put some silicone adhesive between the two so that they do not separate.

This roof rack is the bees. I highly recommend it and it’s very safe and secure, at this same time as having such simple fixings. The lock cores are to be purchased separately (at little cost) and even without the locks, it comes on and off so easily, they aren’t really necessary. I would buy this bike mount over any other.
