Very warm

Very warm
My heat went out in bugout home in NW Pennsylvania and the temperature in the house was 32 degrees. Used these sleeping bags and they didn’t let me down. I had my kids and elderly uncle who were kept warm and cozy. The kids got hot during the night and took off they’re layers. I definitely agree with other reviews that the bags are super huge and heavy. It was ok getting out of the bags but a fight I lost getting them back in. I just threw it in a giant reusable shopping bage with a ratchet strap across the middle to keep it bundled. Hopefully this can improve in the future. I certainly recommend this product to stay warm, but reconsider if you have a small space for storage or transport.

We've been using this bag since 2017. We have not had one problem with this bag. We haven't had any rips, tears or broken zippers. It's still like beans new. This bag is VERY warm which is great for camping in the Sierra's or anywhere it gets cold. We haven't had any issues with trying to stay warm since we bought this bag. I sure wish we'd bought it years ago. I do take a sheet when we camp at lower elevations and the temperatures are warm or hot. We unzip the bag and just use the sheet as a cover. When my husband doesn't go camping I get one of my adult daughter's or a grandchild to help me put it back in the sack. I'm a pro at it now. It's really not that hard once you know how to do it. Just watch and follow the video that the manufacturer put out.

ORIGINAL REVIEW-
I read what seemed like a thousand reviews for every sleeping bag under the sun. I really wanted a sleeping bag that both my husband and I could sleep in together... one that would actually keep us warm on camping trips. We've spent many a freezing night huddled up trying to stay warm... The reviews for this bag led me to believe this could be the perfect bag.

When we went to sleep the first night of using this, I was pretty sure we would be perfectly warm all night. It's thick! This bag is really substantial. We didn't wake up cold once!!! We were comfortable all night long!!! In fact, it was a little warm when we went to sleep so we unzipped the bag and put the top down by our feet.

This bag is heavy duty... I can't imagine getting cold in this bag. The baffles on the side by the zipper are a great touch to keep the zipper away from your skin and any air out. There is also a tab on the outside that folds over the zipper. It's a nice touch!! You can see it in my pictures.

Some people complained about the neck area... There is a baffle there. You can actually tighten or loosen it. It didn't bother us at all. We just put our pillows over it. I don't think we even felt it. I've got a picture of that also.

This bag is huge!! You are not buying this to backpack or even hike in a few miles. This is strictly for car/trailer camping. We could probably fit our two grandkids in the bag with us... Keep in mind that they're toddlers and we are not really big people. That being said, the bag is long. We purchased the Coleman "queen size air cot" this year and this sleeping bag hung over the end. But we're short so it didn't matter a bit to us. I'm sure if we had put the bag on the ground we'd of had a lot of room at the bottom. I think tall people would like this bag.

As for putting it away back into the compression bag... a lot of people complained about that in their reviews but... We did it!!! First try too!!!! The key is to fold it up and then start stuffing it into the bag, turn the bag a half turn with every stuff or two and with a little effort and a tiny bit of sweat you'll get it in there!!! (There is a YouTube video from the manufacturer that helped greatly.) I really wish they'd make the bag just a few inches bigger... It would be even easier... But it can be done and we are retired grandparents!!!!

We have recommended this bag to our kids and to several friends. It's a fantastic bag. I don't think you can go wrong getting this unless you are camping where it will be in 85°+ weather at night!!! Then you'll be too warm. But otherwise this is a really sweet bag!!

We paid for this bag with our own money. No discounts or anything. No one asked me to say nice things about it... But I always read the reviews, always... So I try to leave an honest review to help others. I hope this helped you to decide. Happy camping!!!

UPDATED REVIEW: I used this bag for 14 days at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The night time temperatures ranged anywhere from the high 40's to the high 60's at night. I was quite comfortable in this bag while sleeping in just a pair of shorts. I never intended to use it in any colder weather, I just wanted a sleeping bag that would keep my warm without having to have layers of clothing on. It did it's job wonderfully for me. As for the stuff sack. I was using my US Navy seabag, but it was still a struggle to get it into that bag as well. I have since purchased two 60 liter dry bags (I motorcycle camp) and by separating the sleeping bag into each half, it fits easily into the two dry bags. It is also much easier to pack on the motorcycle and carry each bag, instead of one large bag.
First impressions, this bag is huge. I order this sleeping bag for a couple of reasons.
One, I wanted a sleeping bag that would keep me warm without having to wear several layers of clothing, socks, winter hat, and a scarf. The weather I camp in, the temperature averages mid 50's at night, and may dip down into the low 40's on rare occasions. I've only had the bag a few days, and have tried it out once. It's warm, and I can sleep just like I do when I sleep at home in bed, no extra clothing required. So I give it a thumbs up on that.
Two, I wanted a bag I didn't feel mummified in. I don't like the feeling of being wrapped up and confined when I sleep, this bag has plenty of room. I tend to toss and turn a lot in my sleep, and I don't wake up all twisted up with a zipper poking me in the back in this bag. At 6 foot 2 inches tall, and 180 lbs, I have plenty of room in this bag to sleep comfortably with room to spare. I motorcycle camp, and I pull a small trailer behind my motorcycle, so the size and weight of the bag are not an issue, but this bag is not for someone trying to be an ultra light back packer. It is larger than I anticipated when I ordered it, even in the stuff sack, but it still works for me. I can deal with the size for the benefits of warmth and sleeping comfort. I give it a thumbs up on this also.
I had read the reviews before ordering this, and the stuff sack could be a little larger. Yes, I can get it back into the stuff sack, but it's a workout. Not something I want to try and do every time I go camping. Definitely not something I want to struggle with if I have to pack up in rainy weather. I have opted to discard the stuff sack, and pack it in my sea bag from days in the Navy. It works better for me, but the stuff sack is not a deal breaker by any means, I didn't buy the sleeping bag for the stuff sack.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase of this sleeping bag. If you want a large sleeping bag, that will keep you warm, has a very comfortable and soft lining, this is a great sleeping bag.

So far I've used this at home as lockdown has prevented any outdoor trips. The sleeping bag is well made and lighter than I expected. It is warm to touch and retains heat very well. The queen size is superb for me (a larger gent) although I think it would be quite tight for two large individuals. There are internal padded edges along the zip line can can snag if one isn't too careful. There is no internal pocket in this sleeping bag, but overall the acid test is 'did it keep me warm'. Yes, it was excellent at retaining body heat, and in milder weather I had to unzip the side and pop me legs outside to cool down a bit. I am delighted with this product, even though I paid additional dollars for import duties into the UK. EDIT:12th July,2022. Correction, this amazing sleeping bag does in fact have a pocket.

Incredible quality and workmanship, the material is so soft and durable at the same time. The zippers are durable and they look like they will last for years to come. I love how you are able to open the bag on either side as well and this fits perfectly over our Coleman queen sized air mattress.

I think the coldest we have slept in this bag outside so far is in Banff National Park when it was about 5 or 6 degrees at night after a whole day of rain.
The tent was like an icicle but this sleeping bag was like a furnace.

The bag is so easy to put away as well, just fold the sleeping bag in half and stuff it into the compression sack. I was amazed at how such a huge thing could be stored in such a small bag.

2021 edit:

Still working perfectly. Have been using this sleeping bag with my other half for 3 years and it's still like brand new. Have spent much colder nights since my first review and we have 0 complaints. One trip in Yoho last Fall it went down to about -4C and this thing kept us toasty warm.

Before we go on any camping trip, I take the bag out and let it sit in the sun for a few hours. I then turn it inside out and do this again. I was told by Teton that unless your bag is heavily soiled this is the best and easiest way to clean your bag. This seems to do the trick as every time I do this the bag smells like brand new.

I highly recommend this sleeping bag as I have recommended it to all my family and friends.

Está súper calientito y suavecito, el problema es para empacarlo nuevamente en la bolsa, necesitas tiempo y paciencia para poder hacerlo y es pesado!! Pero cumple con mis necesidades, que es mantenerme caliente 😊

5.0 out of 5 stars Great summer bag for tall people!

This bag made me like camping again! The things I hate most about camping are being too cold at night, feeling sticky/too hot at night and not having enough room to move my legs around. My husband and I were just camping in Oregon this summer. I think it got down to about 14 degrees celsius (mid '50's?) We had an inflatable queen sized mattress with a wool blanket on it, with this bag on top. I was the perfect temperature all night. There is a ton of room. My husband is 6' tall and I am 5'10". We had loads of bag at the top and bottom. The width was very generous too. There was a lot of overhang in all directions over the mattress. There are zippers on either side so it's easy to get in and out, and they seem to be very durable. I didn't have any trouble with fabric getting caught in the zippers either (also a pet peeve). There is a fabric lip along the inside at the top with a drawstring so you can cinch it in around the neck if you need to keep the warmth in. The only problem with this bag is the stuff sack. It is NEVER going to get back in there. We have big cotton drawstring bags for storing sleeping bags - bought from MEC. (in Canada) I imagine REI has something similar. These cotton bags are quite large - so the insides of your sleeping bag don't get crushed during storage. This storage bag is like a small stuff sack for the TETON. It's comical how big this thing is - and it weighs about 15 lbs. I think it might actually be bigger than our cooler. So be prepared for having the best sleep of your life in a bag, but be aware of the amount of size it takes up. We had to play camping tetris in the back of our van to make this behemoth of a bag work. I haven't yet taken it to the laundromat - I hope it will fit. There is no possibility of washing it in my home washer. I am not even sure half would fit in. Bottom line - it's a game changer for me. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
