This has become my absolute favorite kitchen tool and I use it for so many things (more than fish). It feels as flat as paper and seemingly can get under anything. Pancakes has especially become less of a chore. But it works in concert with cast iron beautifully. I know they say not to use metal on cast iron but—where's the lie? it performs. This particular spatula is excellent and I bought it because of the reviews from a popular and well regarded culinary kitchen tool reviewer (this site won't let me say it). However, one slight issue is that rust has formed where the blade meets the handle and the manufacturer never really got back to me to explain or correct it. It doesn't seem to affect the performance and it is a very small spot, so I will let it be and report back if it becomes an issue. I felt a little guilty for the indulgence of this price, but I reach for it every time I turn on a burner—and cooking is such a pleasure why wouldn't you want to taste what you can create with the best tool possible?

I bought this because of the Cooks Illustrated recommendation,. I love this one over the others because the business edge (in front) for shoving under delicate fish, pounded filets, pancakes or sticky, warm cookies is super thin and doesn’t scrunch up the food into an unholy mess. It is thicker than an icing spatula and thinner than a skillet/griddle turner. It’s flexible for scooping, but won’t drop the food by flexing down with the weight of a 6-8 oz beef filet. I love the handle is well built and cleans up like a dream in the dishwasher. I do have a different one, with silicone edging, that I sometimes use in my non-stick pan, but I prefer the flexibility, weight and balance of this one!

There may be equally good items out there, but why take a chance?
—The item will like last many years, so price per use is very little.

The item has the perfect amount of sturdiness, and pliability needed for any task you use it for. I use mine mainly for flipping eggs, but I also use it when flipping crispy I make at the bottom of a skillet, or meat. The tip is also thin, allowing ease to go under the food for flipping.

I worry it may not be dish washer safe; however, I sometimes put it in the dishwasher and have had no problems. But the item cleans easy by hand.

When I first received this spatula I wasn’t impressed. I felt it was flimsy and small compared to other heavy stiff ones I owned. Once I started using it I was totally impressed. It was voted the best spatula on Cooks Country and they were 1000% right..I literally use it when I’m cooking every meal plus deserts. I wish I would have known about this years ago. It’s perfect for everything pancakes, eggs, quesadillas , fish , potatoes, cookies. I love this and am confident it’ll last a long time just like my WÜSTHOF knives and shears. Buy it!

BEWARE!! This product is NOT OVEN SAFE
I can not believe this has happened!! I was preheating the oven and before it reached 350 degrees I noticed that my favorite fry pan and fish spatula were still in the oven. I promptly removed the items and noticed that the Wusthof fish spatula handle had melted: what a crying shame!!! IT WAS MY FAVORITED KITCHEN TOOL!!
I didn't even think about this before purchasing the fish spatula, I naturally thought is would be oven safe like all of my other cheap frying spatulas BUT NO....it's not and I am so disappointed.
I am sharing my mistake with the hope that it will save someone else the disappointment of a $50.00 mistake!!
AGAIN THE WUSTHOF GOURMET SLOTTED SPATULA IS NOT, NOT, NOT OVEN SAFE
(I do not believe it is noted anywhere in the sellers ad so I am warning you before you make the same mistake)

Estuve pensando mucho esta compra. Principalmente por el precio. Además tengo unas 4 espátulas más, aunque ninguna metálica.
La recomendaron en America’s test kitchen como la mejor espátula metálica.
Lo que me convenció fue pensar que si realmente hace una diferencia, valdría la pena ya que es algo que usaría diario dos veces al menos. Y que si es algo que me va a dar un buen servicio por muchos años lo debo considerar al nivel de comprar un buen cuchillo.
Llevo unos dos meses usándola diario y es mucho más de lo que esperaba.
Ligera, fuerte, suficientemente flexible pero con la correcta cantidad de rigidez para separar los alimentos del sartén y su diseño es perfecto para voltear esas comidas complicadas.
Solo tener mucho cuidado al usarlas en superficies de refilón pues las va a rayar si aplicas fuerza.
Yo uso principalmente sartenes de acero inoxidable, acero al carbón y sartenes de fundición (cast iron-Lodge). Para estos es perfecta.
Totalmente recomendable.
Usarla es un placer.

When I saw the price of this turner, I thought I was crazy to buy it... I have a full set of knives and some supplemental ones by Wusthof, which I've had for over 15 years and use all the time, so I know this company makes only excellent quality kitchen tools. I decided that I'd buy their turner. I'm so happy I did! It's got a very sharp edge on the front, and it's sturdy enough to use with fish, meat, eggs, omelets, anything you want to pan fry. I use it all the time! I realized years ago that you need excellent kitchen tools if you're going to cook and enjoy the experience. I expect that with the quality of this turner, I'll have it for years to come as well.
